The Dispatcher is responsible for dispatching, scheduling, and receiving incoming shipments.</p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Build, schedule and dispatch outbound truck freight via approved and collect freight carriers</li>\n <li>Build, dispatch and coordinate scheduling of outbound rail freight</li>\n <li>Utilization of multiple computer programs directly and indirectly involved with truck and rail shipments</li>\n <li>Communicate effectively with carriers, sales, members of dispatch team, transportation, production departments, I.T. and customers</li>\n <li>Engage with railroad representatives as necessary</li>\n <li>Assist with calculating month end shipment forecast and supporting additional dispatch functions</li>\n <li>Assist with perspective carrier evaluations and soliciting new carriers</li>\n <li>All other duties as assigned</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>Required\n<ul>\n <li>Ability to learn systems, carriers and customers’ requirements</li>\n <li>Ability to recognize trends and forecast vehicle needs</li>\n <li>Ability to process multiple pieces of information at a high rate of speed to arrive at best possible outcome</li>\n <li>Continuous communication with all involved parties</li>\n <li>High level of problem solving, prioritization, and organizational abilities</li>\n <li>Strong computer knowledge and computer application abilities</li>\n <li>Customer service functions</li>\n</ul> Preferred\n<ul>\n <li>Previous customer service experience</li>\n <li>Previous dispatch experience</li>\n</ul>\n<p><em><strong>Steel Dynamics Inc. is an equal opportunity employer.</strong></em></p>",
