Automation Service Technician

Position Summary
This role is responsible for programming, commissioning, and supporting industrial control systems across a range of technologies. The position works closely with sales, vendors, and internal teams to translate customer needs into effective system solutions, contribute to service proposals, and deliver reliable, safe, and well-documented services. Continuous learning, collaboration, and adherence to safety and best practices are essential to success in this role.
Position Responsibilities:
Plan and performprogramming, troubleshooting, testing, and commissioning of control systems. Provide supportand services for various products and systems, including lighting controls,HMIs, PLCs, Drives,Meters, UPS, andSCADA products and applications. This requires acompleteworking knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems, a familiarity withPLCprogramming languages, and common industrial communication protocols. Completemanufacturers trainings/certifications for servicing/starting up their products (VFDs, Meters, Software,ect.) Continuously learn about the latest technologies for the industries United/OnPoint is servicing. Contributeto service proposals for scope and cost of work, including timelines and terms and conditions. Work with the sales team on communicatingproduct andservice offerings and capabilities to their customers. Ability to collaborate effectively with vendors, customers, and other United Electric products/services departments. Translate customer requirements/expectations into a functional system or solutionthat technician can execute the billable services on. Maintain proper records of services and projectsin accordance withUnited Electric’s best practices. Travel:
Large amounts of travel within the territory of New Jersey, Delaware and Southeastern Pennsylvania, and Maryland. 10% travel outside of that area, including training.

Electrical, mechanical, chemical, engineering degreeor relevant experience Experience with programming, start up, and commissioning of power and control products such as VFDs, Meters, PLCs, HMI/SCADA (Schneider Electric preferred) Technical Capacity Problem Solving/Analysis Learning & Detail Orientation Teamwork Orientation Ability to read/create electrical schematics The ability to act as aresource for the sales team as a subject matter expert when discussingindustrialserviceofferings to customers Experience and ability to work in an industrial automation environment. Knowledge/Experience inthe electrical/electronic and mechanical fields. Knowledge of electrical/electronic components and equipment, includinghow to use aDVOM, Megaohm Meter, oscilloscope,ect. Proficiencywith hand tools Ability to complete tasks for simultaneous projects/service opportunities Compensation & Benefits:
