          "text": "<p>The City of Mission is seeking a Facilities Operations Attendant 1 to join our Facilities team. This part-time position performs a variety of janitorial, custodial, and minor maintenance duties at facilities operated by the department, including ice arenas, pool facilities, public service areas, administration spaces, and multi-purpose rooms. Duties include performing cleaning and refurbishing tasks such as dusting, washing, polishing, mopping, scrubbing, stripping and waxing floors, cleaning washrooms, and replenishing supplies. The role also involves operating and maintaining cleaning equipment, collecting and disposing of refuse and recycling, performing outside grounds maintenance including snow and ice removal, and assisting with room set-ups for meetings, programs, and rentals.</p><p>Additional responsibilities include performing minor maintenance and repair tasks such as replacing lighting components, ceiling panels, and fixtures, conducting pool tests, and carrying out minor repairs to doors, windows, furniture, appliances, sinks, and toilets. The successful candidate will help maintain the security of facilities, respond to alarms and emergencies, notify supervisors of safety concerns and more complex repair needs, maintain basic records, and assist with the training and orientation of new staff. The position also requires establishing and maintaining positive working relationships with municipal staff, external agencies, user groups, and members of the public while providing courteous and professional customer service.</p>",

Candidates must possess sufficient physical strength and stamina to perform the required duties.</p><p>Qualifications include completion of Grade 12 or equivalent, a Building Service Worker Certificate or recognized equivalent, Refrigeration Safety Awareness Certification, Basic First Aid certification, and a valid Class 5 BC Driver’s Licence. A minimum of six months’ experience in building operations and maintenance, or an equivalent combination of training and experience, is required.</p>",
