    "description": "<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<p>Peraton has an opening for a <strong>Systems Administrator</strong> with a comprehensive skill set in virtualization technologies, storage and backup systems and Windows Active Directory.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>The person who takes this role will spend their first 6 weeks (orientation) <strong>onsite</strong>, 5 days a week, in our <strong>Boston office at 1 Ashburton Place</strong>.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Candidates will ONLY be considered if they live local to Boston. Candidates who live more than 2 hours from downtown Boston will not be considered. </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>After the orientation period, the person in this role will be on a hybrid onsite schedule with a minimum of 3 days per week, at the same Boston location. The role could revert to full time onsite in Boston 5 days per week at any time.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>The System Administrator is primarily responsible for management of all virtualized environments. This includes the various vSphere/vCenter deployments, ESXi Host management, storage area networks, and all other technologies classified as a virtualization technology or used to support virtualized environments. Additional responsibilities include:</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Monitor the health and analyze performance of the virtualization environment.</li>\n <li>Make recommendations and implement changes to improve the overall performance of vSphere.</li>\n <li>Hardware build-out to expand and refresh available physical resources.</li>\n <li>Identify realignment needs of resources to correct under provisioned and overprovisioned virtual systems.</li>\n <li>Recommend best practices for design and installation of new virtual platforms.</li>\n <li>Test, upgrade, and migrate virtual environment as new versions of software and hardware become available.</li>\n <li>Create and document procedures regarding virtualization standards within the organization.</li>\n <li>Under minimal direction, performs basic analysis, design, implementation and maintenance activities in various areas of IT.</li>\n <li>Formulate and/or define scope and objectives of feasibility studies.</li>\n <li>Works independently and leads assignments of medium to high complexity.</li>\n <li>Consistently applies the concepts of appropriate standard methodologies and best practices.</li>\n <li>Prepares reports, records progress and creates solutions to IT problems/issues.</li>\n <li>Interfaces with suppliers and vendors as needed to evaluate software, hardware or services and makes recommendations.</li>\n <li>Participate in rotation for afterhours support.  </li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p><strong>Basic Qualifications:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Bachelors degree and 5 years of experience or an Associates degree and 7 years of experience or a High School diploma and 9 years of experience.</li>\n <li>Must be a U.S. Citizen or Green card holder and have the ability to pass a background check.</li>\n <li>Demonstrated hands on experience performing administration, troubleshooting, patching, and support of VMware virtual infrastructures, storage and backup environments and Windows AD</li>\n <li>Experience and in-depth understanding of Active Directory, DNS and other Windows core services.</li>\n <li>Experience managing private cloud environments as well as developing highly available virtualized environments including defining monitoring standards, operational procedures and growth plans required</li>\n <li>Experience with additional VMware tools (e.g., vRealize Operations, View, Site Recovery Manager) a plus</li>\n <li>Experience with EMC Unity and NetApp storage arrays</li>\n <li>Knowledge and experience with HPE ProLiant servers</li>\n <li>Proven experience designing and implementing an enterprise-wide virtual infrastructure using ESXi v8</li>\n <li>Demonstrated experience working with vendors on system troubleshooting</li>\n <li>Ability to automate processes through the effective application of scripts (PowerShell, Pearl, VBS) </li>\n <li>Ability to handle multiple tasks while prioritizing and delivering results on time.</li>\n <li>Excellent verbal and written communication skills</li>\n <li>Must have strong analytical skills </li>\n <li>Ability to think strategically with technical vision</li>\n <li>Attention to detail and strong organizational skills<u></u></li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Preferred Qualifications:</strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Certifications: </p>\n<ul>\n <li>Microsoft/VMware certifications preferred</li>\n <li>ITIL certification preferred</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Peraton Overview</h2>\n<p>Peraton is a next-generation national security company that drives missions of consequence spanning the globe and extending to the farthest reaches of the galaxy. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations.
