(6pm-6am).</em></strong></p><div style=\"padding: 0px; border: 0px; outline: 0px; font-weight: inherit; font-style: inherit; font-family: Arial !important; font-size: 10pt; margin: 0px; display: inline; color: rgb(51, 51, 51) !important;\">Under the directions and supervision of professional and practical nursing staff, performs routine duties in caring for infants through geriatric patients&rsquo; needs and unit maintenance.</div><p><br></p><p><strong>Essential Duties &amp; Responsibilities:</strong></p><ul><li id=\"isPasted\">Performs routine duties in caring for patients&rsquo; needs and activities of daily living, i.e., hygiene, comfort, ambulation.</li><li>Functions as an assistant to the nurse as assigned.</li><li>Documents and maintains data or patient&rsquo;s record.</li><li>Demonstrates and promotes an awareness of patient&rsquo;s age, growth, development, and cultural / spiritual.</li><li>Acts as a patient advocate.</li><li>Cooperates as a member of the nursing unit, department and overall hospital team.</li><li>Participates in performance improvement.</li><li>Performs related work as required.</li><li>Communicates pertinent data to appropriate parties.</li><li>Maintains patient confidentiality.</li><li>Conducts himself/herself effectively in stressful situations.</li><li>Approaches situations with distressed patients, families and visitors in a calm, professional manner.</li><li>Maintains a safe and clean environment.</li></ul><p><strong>Education:</strong> Completion of a state-approved CNA program required. &nbsp;High School Diploma preferred.</p><p><strong>License/Certification:&nbsp;</strong>Certified Nursing Assistant certification required and CPR required.</p><p><strong>Additional experience preferred:</strong></p><ul><li id=\"isPasted\">Current knowledge of clinical practice.</li><li>Ability to operate and handle many kinds of complex equipment: copy machine, intercom system, telephones, computer and fax machine.</li><li>Experience in computer order entry.</li><li>Ability to demonstrate clinical competence and maintain current knowledge in caring for adolescent through geriatric patients.</li><li>Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing</li><li>Effectively handles frequent interruptions and distractions.</li></ul><p><strong><em>Excellent Benefits: click here for more details</em></strong> <a href=\"https://www.opelousasgeneral.com/documents/OGHS-Benefits.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" id=\"isPasted\">OGHS-Benefits.pdf</a></p></td></tr></tbody></table></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div>\n",
