ELECTRIC MACHINERY COMPANY, a division of WEG Electric Corp. Minneapolis, Minnesota Position: Machinist - 1st Shift Team: Machining Primary Objective of Position: A Machinist is responsible for the setup and operation of CNC and manual machining equipment specifically for our Horizontal CNC Mill machine. A Machinist works within close tolerance requirements to create high quality parts, adhering to safety and quality standards. Salary: 1st Shift salary range $24.00 hourly to $28.00 hourly Will compensate with experience. Position is full-time. Pay Types: Voluntary weekday and weekend overtime. Saturday is paid at time and a half, Sundays are paid at double time! Job Type: Monday – Friday, 7:00a.m. - 3:30 p.m. Full-time (Union) Major Areas of Accountability: Machine high quality parts within tolerance requirements, on a large CNC Horizontal Boring Mill (HBM). Setting up and layout parts, both manually and using your machine to check proper locations and work offsets Read routing information to determine sequence and method of machining. Layout work, partner with Mfg. Engineering related to set up, machining and tooling. Performs preventative maintenance of machines and equipment. Uses electric and pneumatic hand tools. Deburr and hand clean parts. Completes necessary QA/Customer documentation. Maintains a clean work area. Lift and move materials using forklift, pallet jack, overhead crane or jib crane. Demonstrates a commitment to Continuous Improvement by identifying opportunities in day to day work. Performs to ISO 9001 Quality Standards and abides to OSHA and EPA regulations. Skills Matrix: This is a Union Shop. Skills and advancement within the department is documented via the Machining teams Skills Matrix. This position works as a team member utilizing and performing to the Machining Team skills matrix, which outlines the comprehensive skills in the Machining Team.
