Working under the guidance of a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) and in collaboration with Special Education teachers, the RBT implements evidence-based strategies to reduce maladaptive behaviors and increase functional skills.</p>\n<ul>\n <li><strong>Direct Intervention:</strong> Implement individualized Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) and Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) techniques (e.g., Discrete Trial Training, Natural Environment Training) to support student goals outlined in IEPs.</li>\n <li><strong>Data Collection & Analysis:</strong> Accurately track, record, and graph behavioral data (frequency, duration, ABC data) using school-based data systems to monitor student progress and evaluate the effectiveness of interventions.</li>\n <li><strong>Crisis Management:</strong> De-escalate student behaviors using research-based strategies; provide safe physical holds only when students exhibit behaviors that are unsafe to themselves or others, in strict accordance with training and school policy.</li>\n <li><strong>Collaboration:</strong> Actively participate in Student Support Team (SST) and MDT/IEP meetings; provide objective feedback to teachers, BCBAs, and families regarding student progress and challenges.</li>\n <li><strong>Skill Acquisition:</strong> Teach functional replacement behaviors, social-emotional skills, and activities of daily living (ADLs) to foster independence within the classroom and school community.</li>\n <li><strong>Environment Support:</strong> Assist the classroom teacher in creating a safe, structured, and engaging learning environment; model evidence-based behavior strategies for Paraprofessionals and other instructional staff.</li>\n <li><strong>Professionalism:</strong> Maintain strict confidentiality in adherence to FERPA and HIPAA laws; fulfill standards of professionalism including appropriate dress, attendance, and timeliness.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<ul>\n <li><strong>Certification:</strong> Active National Certification as a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) as issued by the BACB is <strong>required to be obtained within 90 days of starting employment.</strong></li>\n <li><strong>Education:</strong> High School diploma or GED required; degree in related field (psychology, special education etc.) preferred</li>\n <li><strong>Experience:</strong> Minimum of 2 years of experience working directly with children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), emotional/behavioral disorders, or intellectual disabilities in a school or clinical setting is preferred</li>\n <li><strong>Skills:</strong> Strong understanding of ABA principles; ability to stay calm in stressful or crisis situations; excellent written and verbal communication skills for effective team collaboration.</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong><em>FPCS’s policy is to provide equal employment opportunity to all qualified applicants and employees regardless of their race, color, religion, sex, age, national origin, disability, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, marital status, genetic information, veteran status, status as a special disabled veteran, or any other protected criteria as established by federal, state, or local laws.
