GliaCell is seeking a Senior Software Engineer on one of our subcontracts. This is a full-time position offering the opportunity to support a U.S. Government customer. The mission is to provide technical expertise that assists in sustaining critical mission-related software and systems to a large government contract.
Research areas include visualization, user interface design, machine learning, and other computational techniques and system architectures capable of advancing the state-of-the-art. Develop web-based visualization solutions, implemented in JavaScript, to enable the customer to visualize and explore large amounts of data from a Knowledge Graph in an efficient, optimized, web environment. The activities shall include the development of new visual analysis techniques to enable user exploration, via responsive UX interactions, of complex relationships (to include hierarchical and otherwise). The contractor shall develop and sustain web-based tools through rapid development cycles and customer engagement (e.g., feedback sessions). The focus is to enable the government to identify cutting-edge visualization approaches for data investigation which promotes strong, clear storytelling for end-user decision-
making. Key Requirements: To be considered for this position you must have the following:
Possess an active or rein-statable TS/SCI with Polygraph security clearance. U.S. Citizenship. 14+ years Software Engineering experience and a BS degree in Computer Science or related. Four (4) years of additional SWE experience on projects with similar software processes may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree. Works well independently as well as on a team. Strong communication skills. Key Skills:
Data Visualization proficiency – DOM-based (D3, SVG, etc.) and/or rendering-based
(Canvas, WebGL, WebGPU, etc.) JavaScript and/or TypeScript React and JQuery JSON Desired Skills:
Experience integrating with existing DOD tools & API endpoints (e.g., CASPORT,
CREATIVEMODE) Python DevOps experience – Docker/Docker compose, Podman, Nginx Unit testing (e.g., Vitest or Cypress) Location: Laurel, Maryland
Salary Range: The salary range for this full-time position is $170,000 to $260,000. Our salary ranges are determined by position, level, skills, professional experience, relevant education and certifications. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for this position across our projects. Within the range, your salary is determined by your individual benefits package selection. The mission is to provide technical expertise that assists in sustaining critical mission-related software and systems to a large government contract.</p><ul><li>Research areas include visualization, user interface design, machine learning, and other computational techniques and system architectures capable of advancing the state-of-the-art.</li><li>Develop web-based visualization solutions, implemented in JavaScript, to enable the customer to visualize and explore large amounts of data from a Knowledge Graph in an efficient, optimized, web environment.</li><li>The activities shall include the development of new visual analysis techniques to enable user exploration, via responsive UX interactions, of complex relationships (to include hierarchical and otherwise).</li><li>The contractor shall develop and sustain web-based tools through rapid development cycles and customer engagement (e.g., feedback sessions).</li><li>The focus is to enable the government to identify cutting-edge visualization approaches for data investigation which promotes strong, clear storytelling for end-user decision-<br>making.</li></ul><b>Key Requirements:</b><p>To be considered for this position you must have the following:</p><ul><li><strong><u>Possess an active or rein-statable TS/SCI with Polygraph security clearance.</u></strong> </li><li>U.S. Citizenship.</li><li>14+ years Software Engineering experience and a BS degree in Computer Science or related.</li><li>Four (4) years of additional SWE experience on projects with similar software processes may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree.</li><li>Works well independently as well as on a team. </li><li>Strong communication skills. </li></ul><p><b>Key Skills:</b></p><ul><li>Data Visualization proficiency – DOM-based (D3, SVG, etc.) and/or rendering-based<br>(Canvas, WebGL, WebGPU, etc.)</li><li>JavaScript and/or TypeScript</li><li>React and JQuery</li><li>JSON</li></ul><p><b>Desired Skills:</b></p><ul><li>Experience integrating with existing DOD tools & API endpoints (e.g., CASPORT,<br>CREATIVEMODE)</li><li>Python</li><li>DevOps experience – Docker/Docker compose, Podman, Nginx</li><li>Unit testing (e.g., Vitest or Cypress)</li></ul><p><span style=\"font-size:14px;\"><span style=\"font-family:Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;\"><b>Location: </b>Laurel, Maryland</span></span></p><p><b>Salary Range:</b> The salary range for this full-time position is $170,000 to $260,000.
