LA28 is the independent, non-profit, privately funded organizing committee for the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games. We are on a singular mission to create an Olympic and Paralympic Games that celebrate all that this city and country have to offer, delivering an unparalleled experience for athletes, fans, partners and our community.
The 2028 Games mark the return of the Summer Games to the U.S. for the first time in 32 years and Los Angeles’ third time hosting an Olympic Games and first time welcoming the Paralympic Games. This presents the unique and exciting opportunity to celebrate our legacy with the Games and push the Olympic and Paralympic Movements forward, writing a new chapter of Games history in Los Angeles.

Senior Manager, Readiness:
Reporting to the Senior Director, Readiness, the Senior Manager, Readiness is responsible for the implementation of the LA28 readiness strategy. The role coordinates the delivery of operational readiness activities across the organization throughout the readiness phase in 2027 and early 2028. With the largest ever Games scope, daily operations across 50 venues and a complex mix of delivery partners, readiness must be seen as an integrated objective. The role of the Senior Manager, Readiness is critical to making this objective a reality.
Key Responsibilities:
Work with functions to identify readiness objectives and support alignment of these objectives with delivery partners
Establish mechanisms for measuring, monitoring and reporting on readiness
Lead the Readiness Working Group of internal LA28 Functional Areas
Provide reporting and updates to Function leads on operational capability status and progress
Act as the central point of contact and integration for readiness activities within the organization
Support delivery of readiness activities across the organization across all functional areas, venues and complex operations
Coordinate the delivery of games-wide readiness exercises
Support continuous improvement through testing operational plans and assumptions
Manage the capture, consolidation and communication of lessons from relevant activities
Map the readiness schedule against critical activities and milestones, sequencing all key activities required to achieve readiness, with particular focus on workforce training and operational planning
Lead the design and development of Functional Area readiness resources, to include the provision of ongoing support and training to functional area users
Develop and deliver readiness awareness materials to progressively increase engagement in the program across the organization
Play a supporting role in the continuous testing and refinement of reporting systems and tools to ensure they are resilient and reliable under the high-pressure conditions of the Games
During the Games, serve a critical role within the MOC Management Team, the central hub for Games-time operations that is connected to all competition and non-competition venues
Support the collection and transfer of planning and operational data to the Olympic and Paralympic Movement
Background & Requirements:
A minimum experience of 5- 7+ years in managing complex projects/operations at the national and/or international level
A minimum experience of 3 years of experience in stakeholder management and integration
A comprehensive knowledge of major event management and event operational functions
Experience in the delivery of operational readiness program s
Experience of managing and communicating change with the ability to adapt quickly and effectively
Experience in co ordinating multiple projects concurrently and under pressure
Significant experience in clear presentation , facilitation, mediation and communication of complex information
Expectations:
Exceptional ability to build credibility and trust with stakeholders at all levels of the organization through a collaborative and service-oriented approach
Clear and concise communication skills, with the ability to explain data concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
A meticulous and detail-oriented mindset, with strong organizational skills to manage competing priorities
Acts as a bridge between business stakeholders and technical execution by converting ambiguous business needs into concrete, well-documented requirements
Adaptability and resilience in a dynamic, fast-paced, and evolving environment
Education:
Bachelor's degree in business administration, sports management, public policy or a related area
Professional certification in emergency or crisis management preferred
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
Available to work onsite in our Downtown Los Angeles-based office.
The majority of work will be conducted in an office setting, requiring extended periods of time using computers, phones, and other office equipment
The LA28 office is an open floorplan working environment; employees must be able to work efficiently in an open cubicle environment
Hours of work may vary, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, especially during peak event periods
Perform other duties as required; the role will evolve over time and may include operational responsibilities during the Olympic and Paralympic Games
The annual base salary range for this position is $105,000.00 - $140,000.00. The pay scale provided is the range that LA28 reasonably expects to pay as starting base compensation for this role. All LA28 compensation remains subject to final determination based on individual candidate qualifications, experience, or other reasonable criteria consistent with LA28’s operational business needs and applicable law.
