This position will remain open for future hiring purposes. </span></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><span style=\"color: rgb(185, 34, 21); font-size: 14pt; font-weight: bold\">Key Responsibilities</span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt; font-weight: bold\">Ongoing</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Responsible for operating and driving the Zamboni (ice resurfacing machine) and other motorized equipment</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Edge ice before games</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Shovel snow away from exit doors</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Ensures all ice pads are resurfaced according to facility schedules</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Ensures all ice pads are resurfaced according to facility standards</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Perform weekly/ daily maintenance on all ice pads</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Complete minor repairs on ice surface, dasher boards, safety shields, and all other equipment</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt; font-weight: bold\">Health &amp; Safety Responsibilities and Accountabilities</span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Responsible for ensuring that all areas covered by Occupational Health &amp; Safety Act (OHSA) are adhered to, specifically:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Working in compliance with the provisions of the OHSA, regulations and internal policies and procedures</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Using or wearing protective equipment, devises or clothing when required</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Reporting any missing or defective equipment or protective device which could endanger himself or herself or another team member</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Reporting any contravention of the OHSA, regulations or SSE policies and procedures</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt; font-weight: bold\">Training</span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Responsible for completing on-line training modules as required, including, but not limited to:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Accessibility for Ontarians with Disability - Customer Service Standards Training</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">IASR: Information and Communications Standards</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Understanding Human Rights Training</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Ontario Worker Health &amp; Safety Awareness</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Violence and Harassment in the Workplace</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">May also be required to attend on-site training sessions as scheduled.</span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\"> </span></p>\n<p><span style=\"color: rgb(185, 34, 21); font-size: 14pt; font-weight: bold\">Qualifications (what we look for)</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Minimum of 18 years of age</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Experience driving an ice resurfacer</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Must possess a valid driver’s license</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Must be physically able to do heavy lifting (50 lbs) and comfortable working at heights</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Possess knowledge of materials, equipment, and methods used in ice resurfacing</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Knowledge of occupational hazards and standard safety precautions</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Familiar with tools and maintenance equipment</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Must be willing to work a varied schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Bilingual preferred (French &amp; English)</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"color: rgb(185, 34, 21); font-size: 14pt\"><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Who We Are</span> </span></p>\n<p>The Sensplex Facilities, an affiliate of the Ottawa Senators Hockey Club, are Ottawa’s premier destinations for hockey, sports, and community events.
