POSITION SUMMARY Help create healthier, more supportive workplaces across New Hampshire! We're seeking a relationship-builder with experience/knowledge in public health and substance use prevention, treatment, and recovery to be part of a team championing the Governor's Recovery Friendly Workplace (RFW) initiative. INTRODUCTION Granite United Way is a nonprofit organization that makes strategic investments in our community to help people learn, earn, and be healthy. Our impact covers more than 85% of New Hampshire and Windsor County, Vermont. With the support of more than 22,000 donors and volunteers, we are working together to provide more than $13 million in support to over 450,000 individuals. Administered by Granite United Way (GUW), RFW’s mission is to empower businesses to challenge stigma and create supportive environments where employees can thrive. RFW is a growing movement of businesses dedicated to making a difference for employees, families, and communities that have been affected by substance use. RFW provides a no-cost, high-value approach to proactively supporting businesses and people. RFW’s mission is to empower businesses to challenge stigma and create supportive environments where employees can thrive. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: The Recovery Friendly Advisor supports the following scope of services in order to meet grant requirements and deliverables: Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with employers, community partners, state agencies, and other stakeholders to advance New Hampshire's Recovery Friendly Workplace initiative. Serve as the primary point of contact for participating workplaces, providing guidance, account management, quality assurance support, and assistance throughout the designation and renewal process. Maintain accurate documentation, collect program data, and support reporting and evaluation efforts. Collaborate as part of a high-performing team, bringing a proactive, solutions-oriented approach to achieving program goals. Contribute to the development of new resources, trainings, and other offerings that strengthen the value and impact of the initiative. Develop and deliver trainings, presentations, and program resources for employers, community groups, and other partners. Support statewide growth of the initiative by implementing strategic priorities, outreach efforts, and stakeholder engagement activities. OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Frequent in-state travel is required. Some evening and weekend hours may be expected. 2. Other duties as assigned to support the initiative. EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS: REQUIRED Two years of experience in a business or nonprofit setting providing planning, project coordination, consultation, training, technical assistance or direct services. One year of which shall be in a substance use prevention, treatment, harm reduction, or recovery setting. Ability to balance autonomy to meet program deliverables and self-direction while also needing to work collaboratively, stay communicative, and follow initiative-wide quality, communication, and other standards. Knowledge of the theories and methods of public health and substance use prevention, treatment, recovery and harm reduction. Knowledge of basic business administration and operations. Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing to individuals and groups. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with businesses, other professional and administrative officials, government officials and the public. PREFERRED Bachelor’s degree or equivalent from an accredited institute of higher education with major study in public health, human services, human resources, business administration, social or physical sciences, or related field. Career experience in account management may be considered in lieu of a bachelor's degree. Those with lived experience in recovery are encouraged to apply. Knowledge of community assets and resources, particularly concerning the continuum of care for mental health and substance use disorders. Knowledge of workplace wellness strategies and/or human resources. Ability to prioritize workplan activities and work independently. Working knowledge of Google Suite products. ADDITIONAL ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and proof of insurance. SCHEDULE & TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: GUW’s core business hours are between 8:30am and 4:30pm Monday-Friday.
