    "description": "<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Job Summary:</span><span> </span>This position is responsible for providing instructional support and resources to assigned campuses.  Including implementation and monitoring of campus-based special education programs and related services. </p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Duties and Responsibilities:<span> </span></span> </p>\n<p>1.</p>\n<p>Employ special educational strategies and techniques during instruction to improve the development of sensory- and perceptual-motor skills, language, cognition, and memory.</p>\n<p>2.</p>\n<p>Coordinate and monitor all instructional and related services provided to students with disabilities</p>\n<p>3.</p>\n<p>Provide technical support for critical cases and secure necessary resources to address student needs.</p>\n<p>4.</p>\n<p>Collaborate with the special education director, campus administrators, and special/general education staff to provide direction and assistance for their programs.</p>\n<p>5.</p>\n<p>Use a communication system to keep administrators informed of support provided to campuses.</p>\n<p>6.</p>\n<p>Assist in communicating with parents from various cultural backgrounds regarding evaluation, programming, placement, services, and rights of students with disabilities.       </p>\n<p>7.</p>\n<p>Instruct students in academic subjects using a variety of techniques such as phonetics, multi-sensory learning, and repetition to reinforce learning and to meet students' varying needs and interests.</p>\n<p>8.</p>\n<p>Teach socially acceptable behavior, as determined by the student's individualized education programs (IEPs) by employing techniques in an overall positive behavioral support system.</p>\n<p>9.</p>\n<p>Modify the general education curriculum for students with disabilities based upon a variety of instructional techniques and technologies.</p>\n<p> 10.</p>\n<p>Establish and enforce rules for behavior and procedures for maintaining an environment conducive to</p>\n<p>learning for all students.</p>\n<p> 11.</p>\n<p>Performs any additional duties related to the ongoing effectiveness of the program as directed.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Education: <span> </span></span>Bachelor’s Degree from a four-year, accredited university.   Master’s Degree preferred.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Certification: <span> </span></span>NCLB, Highly qualified valid Texas Teaching Certificate in Special Education as required by teaching assignment or acceptance to approved Alternative Certification Program and results of TEXes exam.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Work Experience: <span> </span></span><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">A minimum of 1-2 years of successful teaching experience is preferred.</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Competencies:</span></p>\n<p>To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies to perform the essential functions of this position:</p>\n<ul>\n<li> Knowledge of state and federal education laws and regulations.</li>\n<li> Knowledge of subject matter to be taught and ability to lead discussions</li>\n<li> Skills in using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.</li>\n<li>Ability to implement Texas Education Agency (TEA) education policies and procedures.</li>\n<li>Ability to review and implement agency policies, procedures, and operating guidelines.</li>\n<li>Ability to convey and interpret information to students.</li>\n<li>Ability to communicate orally and in writing with students, parents, administrators, and other professionals involved in the education of TRS students.</li>\n<li>Ability to work under stressful conditions, with possible occurrences of extreme heightened stress.</li>\n<li>Ability to work independently with minimum supervision.</li>\n<li>Ability to work collaboratively with all stakeholders and maintain a professional, courteous demeanor.</li>\n<li>Ability to keep accurate files and records.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Equipment Used</span></p>\n<p>Microsoft Office, Office equipment (e.g., computer, copier). General Knowledge of accounting procedures, district policies, and school law.</p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Working/Environmental Conditions/Mental Demands/Physical Demands:</span></p>\n<p>Work is normally performed in a typical interior work environment that does not subject the employee to any hazardous or unpleasant elements.  Ability to carry and/or lift less than 15 pounds.</p>",
