Headquarters in New Jersey, we also have office locations in Maryland, Washington D.C., and California.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Position Objectives and Responsibilities</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Prepare detailed quantity takeoffs from plans and specifications</li>\n<li>Develop accurate cost estimates for labor, equipment, materials, and subcontractors</li>\n<li>Analyze drawings, geotechnical reports, and technical specifications</li>\n<li>Solicit, review, and level subcontractor and vendor quotations</li>\n<li>Maintain cost history databases and unit pricing</li>\n<li>Prepare estimates in compliance with California public agency requirements</li>\n<li>Understand prevailing wage (DIR) requirements</li>\n<li>Familiarity with Caltrans, municipal, and utility district bidding procedures</li>\n<li>Review bonding requirements and insurance specifications</li>\n<li>Support DBE/SBE participation goals when required</li>\n<li>Participate in pre-bid meetings and site visits</li>\n<li>Identify constructability issues and value engineering opportunities</li>\n<li>Coordinate with operations, project managers, and field personnel</li>\n<li>Prepare bid summaries and present final numbers to senior management</li>\n<li>Assist in scope review and handoff to project team after award</li>\n<li>Perform risk analysis and contingency evaluation</li>\n<li>Develop production rates and equipment spreads</li>\n<li>Identify scope gaps and exclusions</li>\n<li>Evaluate alternative methods and materials</li>\n<li>Strong analytical and mathematical skills</li>\n<li>Ability to read and interpret civil drawings and specifications</li>\n<li>Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills</li>\n<li>Ability to meet strict bid deadlines</li>\n<li>Strong communication skills (internal &amp; subcontractor coordination)</li>\n<li>Acts as a resource for project management by providing cost information and developing cost estimates for changes in the work during the different construction phases</li>\n<li>Develop and maintain professional relationships and the highest ethical standards with clients, subcontractors and vendors</li>\n<li>Able to handle multiple bids per week</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Position Requirements and Qualifications</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>5+ years estimating experience in heavy civil, utility rehabilitation, and infrastructure construction</li>\n<li>Experience with water/wastewater, sewer, pipeline, or underground utility projects</li>\n<li>Experience bidding public works projects in California</li>\n<li>Experience with local Municipalities, such as the City of LA and LACSD a plus</li>\n<li>Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field (preferred)</li>\n<li>Strong understanding of production rates and field operations</li>\n<li>5+ years of prior estimating experience is required</li>\n<li>Prior Project Management experience a plus</li>\n<li>Business Development experience a plus</li>\n<li>Experience with Heavy Bid estimating software is required</li>\n<li>Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or other industry related degree required</li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Excellent communication skills both orally and in writing</li>\n<li>Must be highly organized and efficient, and able to handle a wide variety of obligations</li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Strong analytical skills with the ability to interact and collaborate at all levels</li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li>This position requires an individual that is enthusiastic, confident, and independent, with strong leadership skills.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"color: inherit; font-size: 12pt; font-weight: bold\">Recruitment Notice</span></p>\n<p><em>Spiniello Companies does not accept unsolicited resumes from search, recruiting, or staffing firms.
