Natural curiosity and hunger for wonder are behaviors that make our employees successful.</p><p>This summary provides a listing of the knowledge, skills, and abilities that are critical components of the position for Manager of Internal Evaluation Programs.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong>General<br>&nbsp;<br>&nbsp;</strong></p><p>This is a full-time, FLSA exempt position that reports to the Director of Safety. The Manager of Internal Evaluation (MIE) has overall responsibility, as part of the Company&rsquo;s Safety department, for the day-to-day management of the Safety Internal Evaluation Program (IEP). This person will serve as the chairman of the IEP board. The Manager of Internal Evaluation is an important position which ensures all Eastern Airlines personnel promote safety and regulatory compliance for all Eastern Airlines operations. s.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Duties and Responsibilities<br></strong></p><ul><li>Develops, implements, and maintains an IEP in accordance with the guidance contained in the current edition of FAA Advisory Circular (AC) 120-59, Internal Evaluation Programs;</li><li>Develops an annual evaluation schedule through coordination with the IEP board;</li><li>Ensures all evaluations are conducted on or close to schedule;</li><li>Reviews all evaluation information and prepares a summary of all evaluations for the IEP board;</li><li>Prepares finding reports for submission to each operating department with evaluation findings;</li><li>Reviews departmental corrective action plans for accuracy and effectiveness;</li><li>Tracks both findings and corrective actions to ensure follow-up and completion;</li><li>Prepares a monthly summary of evaluation findings and corrective action plans for the Director of Safety &nbsp;</li><li>Manages ISOA conformance through ISOA Conformance audits and during IOSA renewal audits;</li><li>Preparing quarterly and annual reports of the IEP for senior management and the Board of Directors (BOD) Safety Committee;</li><li>Maintains the electronic database of evaluation information and audit findings;</li><li>Schedules audits and evaluations in accordance with the IEP guidelines;</li><li>Conducts audits and evaluations of stations and facilities;</li><li>Conducts annual oversight evaluations of operating departments;</li><li>Compiles and analyzes audit and evaluation findings for root cause identification;</li><li>Recommends corrective actions pursuant to findings;</li><li>Tracks corrective actions to completion;</li><li>Maintains a database of audit materials, checklists, findings, root causes, corrective actions, and analysis;</li><li>Prepares reports for the Director of Safety and other senior management;</li><li>Maintains the Company&rsquo;s IEP manual;</li><li>In the absence of the Director of Safety and may be called upon to perform duties of the Director of Safety including, liaise with the local FAA Flight Safety District Office, OSHA, NTSB, or other regulatory agencies as directed by President and CEO pertaining to areas of function and responsibility;</li><li>Manages the budgets needed to ensure necessary resources are provided to the functions assigned to safety;</li><li>Perform other duties as assigned.<br>&nbsp;</li></ul><p><strong>Qualifications</strong></p><ul><li>Requires strong knowledge or operations specifications, aviation safety standards, operating practices, and applicable provisions or Federal Aviation Regulations Parts 14 &nbsp; CFR parts 1, 5, 21, 25, 39, 43, 61, 65, 91, 117, 119, 120, 121, 139, 49 CFR parts 40, 171, 172, 175, 830, 1520, 1540, 1542, 1544, and the Company OpSpecs;&nbsp;</li><li>Have a full understanding of the Company aviation safety standards and safe operating practices;&nbsp;</li><li>Have a full understanding of the manual(s) required by CFR &sect; 121.133;</li><li>Have a minimum of two (2) years&rsquo; experience in the airline industry in station or operations management - preferably supervisory or managerial experience within flight operations, aircraft maintenance, or station management of a 14 CFR Part 121 or Part 135 scheduled air carrier; In lieu of the preceding, at least two (2) years&rsquo; experience in U.S. military aviation operations or a supervisory position previously held with a U.S. government department, board, or agency that deals directly with aviation matters may be accepted;</li><li>Have successfully completed a recognized comprehensive safety certificate program (this qualification is preferred); *</li><li>Be familiar with the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), and other Federal safety regulations;</li><li>Be familiar with accepted auditing techniques (as well as IOSA audit and IOSA auditing processes);&nbsp;</li><li>Be familiar with database management;</li><li>Have the following Advisory Circulars immediately available for consulting:</li><li>AC 120-59B - Internal Evaluation Programs</li><li>AC 120-66B - Aviation Safety Action Program (ASAP)</li><li>AC 120-82 - Flight Operational Quality Assurance</li><li>AC 120-92B - Safety Management Systems;</li><li>Ability to multitask and work under pressure in a dynamic environment;</li><li>Must exercise good judgement at all times;</li><li>Travel will be required; and possessing a current passport</li><li>Pass a two (2) year drug and alcohol background check, pre-employment drug test, and criminal history records check (CHRC);</li></ul><p><br></p><p>&nbsp;</p></div></div>\n",
