This unique training program encompasses a thirty-six month long rotation in the main areas of construction management: Project Management, Site Supervision, and Estimating.  At the end of this intense on-the-job program, trainees graduate and continue their careers dedicated to the role of Assistant Project Manager, Assistant Superintendent, or Assistant Estimator with an understanding of the entire life cycle of a job.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Project Management</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Ensure the proper tools are in place to begin a project</li>\n <li>Ensure all documents and materials are maintained throughout a project</li>\n <li>Assist with financial management of a project</li>\n <li>Assist with the punch list process by coordinating with necessary parties, tracking all items, and distributing lists to all parties</li>\n</ul>\n<p>Site Supervision</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Determine constructability of a project</li>\n <li>Secure government licenses to start a job</li>\n <li>Confirm materials and methods as specified by project documents</li>\n <li>Ensure projects are delivered the Shawmut way</li>\n <li>Track and manage subcontractor changes and extra work</li>\n <li>Keep project plans current and highlight changes</li>\n</ul>\n<p>Estimating</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Ensure that proper documentation is in place prior to the beginning of the estimating process</li>\n <li>Find all necessary information regarding the job to produce a quality estimate</li>\n <li>Ensure that the best bids are obtained for each trade based on project needs, and create quantity take-offs for all applicable divisions/trades, beginning with the creation of an accurate list of all trades affected</li>\n <li>Assist in the presentation of information and proposals</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Bachelors degree or equivalent military experience required.\n  <ul>\n   <li>A degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Civil Engineering, Building Construction, Mechanical Engineering, etc.  <em>*There are no specific major requirements, however these are the most relevant.</em></li>\n  </ul></li>\n <li>Co-op or internship experience in construction strongly preferred.</li>\n <li>Strong communication skills</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>EEO Information</h2>\n<p>Shawmut prohibits discrimination against any staff member or applicant on the basis of race, color, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity/expression, age, religion, national origin, marital status, veteran status, pregnancy, physical or mental disability, genetic information, disability, creed, citizenship status, or any other legally protected characteristic</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>We are interested in every qualified candidate who is eligible to work in the United States.
