An ideal candidate will have training and experience with electronics soldering and repair in a U.S. Navy, DoD, or similar professional environment.<br><br><strong>Typical Responsibilities:</strong><ul><li>Provide dedicated C4N/IT Technician support at Assault Craft Unit 4 (ACU4).</li><li>Troubleshoot, assess, and repair electronic and ancillary equipment used on Landing Craft Air Cushion (LCAC) vehicles.</li><li>Independently manage assigned tasks, including Grooming, Technical Assistance, Repairs, and Refurbishments, with minimal supervision.</li><li>Configure, operate, and provide training on the use of system-required test equipment.</li><li>Perform advanced technical tasks in support of engineering activities, including setup, operation, maintenance, modification, circuit testing, calibration, and troubleshooting of electronic, electromechanical components, and systems. These tasks may involve experimental design circuitry, prototype models, or specialized test equipment.</li><li>Interpret and follow schematics, diagrams, written instructions, and verbal directions to complete assigned tasks.</li><li>Conduct complex engineering tests to gather design data and contribute to general research efforts.</li><li>Diagnose and resolve complex equipment and system malfunctions that are not resolved through standard corrective procedures.</li><li>Assist in the development and improvement of electronic equipment.</li><li>Repair and/or modify cables and equipment returned by operational users or personnel from associated test and development laboratories.</li></ul><br><strong>Location</strong>: Full time onsite at ACU4 in Virginia Beach, VA.<br> <br><strong>Typical Physical Activity</strong>: Repair, fabrication, and installation activities in engineering lab spaces and shipboard environments. May include: repetitive motion, soldering in a ventilated space, maneuvering large objects with human/equipment assistance, traversing ladders and inclines/declines, climbing/crawling/navigating tight/confined shipboard spaces, working from kneeling/prone positions, frequent standing/kneeling, and working in hot workspaces due to sun, environment, and heat-radiating equipment.<br><br><strong>Travel Requirements</strong>: This position is anticipated to require up to 20% travel, including overseas travel. <br><br><strong><u>Existing</u> SECRET Security Clearance Required</strong>: This position requires an existing active or interim Secret security clearance prior to hire. Only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance; therefore, only current U.S. citizens will be considered for this position.
