With plans to launch our aircraft in the US and Dubai, we're now scaling manufacturing and preparing for the launch of our commercial service.</p>\n<h2>Overview</h2>\n<p>Joby Aviation is seeking a highly organized, passionate individual to join our System Testing team. As part of this team, you will perform systems level testing for our VTOL electric aircraft. The data gathered in our integrated test labs will drive hardware and software design improvements and accelerate the path to production-ready components. Your work will play a crucial role in ensuring our aircraft meet the rigorous safety and performance standards required for FAA certification, a key milestone in bringing our innovative technology to market. The Joby team is made up of extremely talented, hardworking, proactive, and hands-on individuals, operating in a very fast-paced and rewarding environment. We are looking to expand this team with like-minded individuals eager to leave a mark in the aviation industry. This position will split time between our Systems Test facilities in Santa Cruz, CA and Marina, CA. </p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Plan, write, and execute system level verification testing in the integrated test labs (ITLs). </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Perform the responsibility of Pilot-in-the-Loop and Test Directors, and train others. </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Write Formal Test Procedures and Standard Operating Procedures. </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Develop and maintain configuration control of the ITLs’ hardware & software, as well as calibration records. </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Drive Root Cause Corrective Actions with cross-functional Subject Matter Experts. </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Develop tools & processes to ensure safe, fast and repeatable test execution. </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Analyze data collected during the aforementioned tests to generate reports to provide quantifiable feedback to the engineering teams that will allow them to optimize their designs</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Required</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>B.S. in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent experience. </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>5+ years of work experience in relevant industry. </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Experience running system level tests in a lab environment.  </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Experience with Instrumentation, Data Acquisition Systems and Sensors </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Experience developing and executing system level Hardware-In-The-Loop (HIL) tests </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Strong analytical background </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Excellent problem solving and communication skills </li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Desired</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Experience with high-voltage power-electronics </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Experience with LabVIEW and Veristand </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Experience with industrial test laboratory environments, procedures and safety </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Polarion requirements and test case documentation experienced a plus  </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Experience with aircraft certification (ARP 4754, DO-178), regulatory requirements, compliance testing, aircraft software engineering processes, and test verification. </li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Compensation at Joby is a combination of base pay and Restricted Stock Units (RSUs). The target base pay for this position is $104,000 - $183,000/yr.
