Our technical products cover the entire insurance value chain, enabling frictionless customer and agent experiences during shopping, quoting, servicing, and claims processing.  They also enable our users to create, modify, and underwrite our insurance products.  </p>\n<p> </p>\n<h2>Geo-Salary Information</h2>\n<p><strong><em>An in-person interview may be required during the hiring process</em></strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>State specific pay scales for this role are as follows:</p>\n<p>$94,458 to $179,048 (CA, NJ, NY, WA, HI, AK, MD, CT, RI, MA)</p>\n<p>$85,871 to $162,771 (NV, OR, AZ, CO, WY, TX, ND, MN, MO, IL, WI, FL, GA, MI, OH, VA, PA, DE, VT, NH, ME)</p>\n<p>$77,283 to $146,464 (UT, ID, MT, NM, SD, NE, KS, OK, IA, AR, LA, MS, AL, TN, KY, IN, SC, NC, WV)</p>\n<p>The expected base salary for this position will vary depending on a number of factors, including relevant experience, skills and location.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<p><strong>Essential Job Functions: </strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Identify and understand user needs by conducting research.  Types of discovery research include: basic user interviews, literature reviews, analyzing support, and reviewing product analytics.  Synthesize findings and clearly communicate to team.</li>\n <li>Participate in assumption mapping and work with Design, Product Analytics, and Engineering to run experiments. </li>\n <li>Capture and document enhancement requests in the backlog and work with requestors to identify the root problem their enhancement requests are addressing. </li>\n <li>Gather basic inputs used to score problems and opportunities and help prioritize which problems or opportunities to address.</li>\n <li>Participate in opportunity mapping for prioritized problems and opportunities to identify potential solutions.</li>\n <li>Develop and evangelize a product strategy and 1 year roadmap, aligned with the overall portfolio.</li>\n <li>Understand the target outcomes and business cases for your product area, and build roadmaps and requirements focused on delivering value.  Ensure your epics contain a viable plan to track progress towards outcomes.</li>\n <li>Leverage story mapping and various splitting techniques to break prioritized initiatives down into impactful epics and stories to deliver incremental value as quickly as possible</li>\n <li>Collaborate with multiple functions to ensure breakdown can be efficiently implemented</li>\n <li>Coordinate with engineering to create the list of stories and epics to be included in each sprint based on priority, effort, capacity, and dependencies</li>\n <li>Draft excellent epics and stories with comprehensive, clear, and concise information and strong acceptance criteria</li>\n <li>Lead refinement and answer questions as needed</li>\n <li>Track sprint progress and notify stakeholders of delays</li>\n <li>Work with peers and cross functional teams to unblock dependencies or escalate</li>\n <li>Work with Product Analytics to identify UI and API driven events that help the team understand user experience and adoption, and document tracking needs within user stories and epics</li>\n <li>Prepare release notes, update living documents, and answer questions during rollout as needed</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p> </p>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p><strong>Education: </strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Bachelor's degree in business, computer science, engineering, or equivalent practical experience in product management </li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Experience:</strong></p>\n<p>Minimum</p>\n<ul>\n <li>3+ years product management and/or product design</li>\n <li>3+ years managing complex initiatives from initiation to completion using product management processes and best practices</li>\n <li>Experience in defining and implementing product metrics to track performance and success</li>\n <li>Experience handling all stages of product delivery</li>\n <li>Experience representing various customers and stakeholders during planning</li>\n</ul>\n<p>Preferred:</p>\n<ul>\n <li>2+ years experience in working with rating platform and rules engine.</li>\n <li>2+ years experience in building software platforms in insurance for business-critical functions such as rating, underwriting, and insurance configuration.</li>\n <li>1+ years of advanced knowledge of Guidewire product models specifically working on Guidewire Policy Center, with knowledge of its function in underwriting/sales workflows, policy rating, rules engine, and Guidewire product models.</li>\n <li>2+ years experience working with Property & Casualty insurance platform </li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Skills and Abilities</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Solid understanding of basic P&C insurance technology, including their functionality, limitations, advantages, and future direction</li>\n <li>Basic understand of the insurance technology ecosystem including common integrations and dependencies</li>\n <li>Skilled at managing products with an active development roadmap</li>\n <li>Proficient at influencing your product team and cross-functional business teams using earned leadership and strong communication skills</li>\n <li>Experience working in agile software delivery</li>\n <li>Able to develop and present complex problems in a straightforward way</li>\n <li>Exceptional verbal, oral, and written communication skills</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<h2>About the Company</h2>\n<p><strong><em>Why choose a career at Mercury?</em></strong></p>\n<p>At Mercury, we have been guided by our purpose to help people reduce risk and overcome unexpected events for more than 60 years.
