Description

Job summary Drive a tractor-trailer combination to transport and deliver product to Warehouse for packaging. Will be required to load and unload product. Candidate must meet the guidelines for the position as required by DOT qualifications and performance standards. Warehouse (forklift) and shuttle work as needed. Summary of essential job functions This job includes the following duties and any other as assigned by current manager: Daily safe operation of company provided tractor and bulk trailer Load and deliver bulk plastic from rail car to warehouse from offsite rail facility via hopper truck Ensure timely delivery of bulk loads to the warehouse Assist in shuttle moves when required Assist in warehouse operations (i.e. using a forklift to do one or all of the following: staging orders for shipment, stocking received orders, loading orders into trailers for shipments) Load hopper truck from boxes to be picked up for later delivery Move dropped van trailers to and from dock doors Ensure that all A & R procedures and processes are followed throughout the movement of equipment and commodities. Maintain all appropriate records and ensure their accuracy Ensure that equipment usage and maintenance records are maintained Identification of the requirements used to apply and process Rail Car Identification Tags for Outbound truck shipments Practical knowledge of steps and inspection requirements necessary to perform a Clean, Dry, and Odor Free dry bulk container tank wash. Trailer inspection process. Trailer vacuum loading procedures. The use of Dense Phase unloading techniques in the Trailer Off-loading process. Use of the trailer document holder. General knowledge of the methodology and terminology used in the industry to understand the types of products and their handling properties. Silo evacuation process Steps identified to reduce the loss of pellets, including pellet retention and disposal procedures. Un-Supervised off-site Rail Car off loading requirements and procedures. Contamination control procedures. Reloading and blow-back procedures to remove excess product. In the performance of their assigned job, each employee's focus will also be on the continuous improvement of the task involved and how to improve on the methods used or the flow of activities necessary to provide a Quality service to the customer. Adhere to, promote, and encourage compliance with all elements of the company's Responsible Care performance goals. Compliance with all DOT required mandates, including: Timely completion of drivers logs and vehicle records Hazardous Materials notification and training Federal Right to Know requirements Confined Space procedures
