    "requisitionDescription": "<div><div><div><div><div><div><p id=\"isPasted\"><strong>Job Description</strong></p><p><strong>Summary/Objective</strong><strong>&nbsp;</strong><strong><br>&nbsp;</strong>A Traveling Foreman is the first line supervisor with crew level responsibility for employees involved in the installation, alteration, addition, and/or repairs of electrical systems, conductors, and associated materials and equipment on any type project; or may be the primary jobsite supervisor on smaller construction, retrofit, or tenant finish projects. These sites will be in the Texas area.</p><p><strong>Essential Functions</strong></p><p>Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><ol><li>Responsible for all VA Electric field trades on an electrical construction crew or project.</li><li>Does a working estimate and take-off jointly with the Project Manager, Construction Manager or Direct Supervisor.</li><li>Lays out work for subordinate lead persons, and is jointly responsible with the Project Manager for having material, tools, equipment, information and appropriate manpower in the proper place in a timely fashion.</li><li>Establishes work schedules and man-loading charts.</li><li>Directs subordinate crew in installation of electrical feeders; equipment such as pumps, motors, and generators; control and distribution apparatus such as switch gear, relays, and circuit breaker panels; lighting fixtures and outlets; and related connections and terminations.</li><li>Monitors work as performed, directs subordinate crews, and schedules work according to the pace of the job and other trades.</li><li>May perform work being supervised for either production or instruction.</li><li>Handles or oversees the disposition of required office correspondence and administrative paperwork such as official forms, daily reports, time sheets/tickets, safety reports, etc.</li><li>Enforces all company safety, client and project safety policies and procedures. &nbsp; Assures employees are properly trained or instructed in performance of duties to which assigned. &nbsp;Assures compliance with all VA Electric safety processes and protocols. &nbsp;Investigates or assists in investigation and reporting of any accident or safety incidents involving jobsite employees.</li></ol><p><strong>&nbsp;</strong></p><p><strong>Skills/Competencies</strong></p><ol start=\"1\" type=\"1\"><li>Collaboration Skills.</li><li>Customer/Client Focus.</li><li>Decision Making.</li><li>Leadership.</li><li>Communication Proficiency.</li><li>Ethical Conduct.</li><li>Problem Solving.</li><li>Project Management.</li><li>Thoroughness.</li><li>Time Management</li></ol><p><strong>Supervisory Responsibility</strong><strong><br>&nbsp;</strong>The position directly supervises employees and carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization&rsquo;s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.</p><p><strong>Work Environment<br>&nbsp;</strong>While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions at construction job sites. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud. This position is performed in outside weather conditions</p><p><strong>Physical Demands<br>&nbsp;</strong>The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.</p><p>While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is regularly required to talk and hear.&nbsp;<strong>This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling and climbing all day. The employee must frequently lift and move items over 50 pounds.</strong> Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.</p><p><strong>Position Type/Expected Hours of Work<br>&nbsp;</strong>This is a full-time position.
