You’ll oversee departmental operations, programming, budget, team dynamics, and safety/confidentiality of services to support the delivery of quality, evidence-based occupational therapy and maintain appropriate accreditation standards. As needed, you’ll provide trauma-informed services to clients within respective area of expertise. You’ll participate in securing funding for occupational therapy department. Through expansion and integration of occupational therapy services, you’ll explore opportunities to add value to organization programs. You’ll promote the work and mission of FamilyForward by providing trainings to internal FamilyForward staff and to community members at the local and broader levels. You’ll coordinate with educational institutions to secure site certification for student fieldwork and oversee student experiences. You’ll engage in appropriate research and service activities to support FamilyForward’s mission and core values. You’ll serve as visible and effective spokesperson for the program within the occupational therapy profession, the childhood trauma community, relevant state agencies, and professional associations. Management and Supervisory Responsibilities You’ll provide supervision, mentoring, and coaching to occupational therapy staff to ensure department provision of evidence-based, trauma-informed treatment, appropriate documentation, and effective billing. You’ll create safe and inclusive environments for all staff, clients, and families. You’ll demonstrate excellent communication, time management, collaboration, and organizational skills in supporting staff within and across FamilyForward programs and departments. You’ll communicate with Senior Director on an on-going basis to provide updates on client services, budget achievement, staffing issues, and performance appraisals. Work independently with numerous projects/tasks with little or no supervision. You’ll work in a team environment and promote collaboration. You’ll oversee department adherence to accreditation standards, professional standards, policies and procedures, federal, state, and local requirements, and National and state organization. You’ll model core values and takes an active role in enforcing FamilyForward policies. You’ll promote sustainable practices that further FamilyForward mission even during times of change or transition. You’ll travel to off-site locations for marketing and community/professional activities. You’ll demonstrate ability to foster diversity, equity and inclusion throughout department efforts. You would be a good fit for this position if you: Have a bachelor’s degree in occupational therapy or related field. Have a state licensure or ability to obtain state licensure in professional field. Have at least 3 or more years clinical experience with pediatric population. Have advanced training and 2 years’ experience working with children who have experienced trauma or attachment disruption. Have demonstrated leadership ability. Have proven organizational and data analysis skills. Have experience with collaboration, facilitation, and team building. Qualifications and Education that make you stand out (but are not required): Have a Doctoral Degree in occupational therapy or related field. Have at least 5 or more years clinical experience with pediatric population. Have advanced training and certification in childhood trauma and Neurosequential Model of Therapeutics. Have at least 3 or more years working in setting focused on supporting children who have experienced trauma. Have at least 2 or more years supervisory experience. Have experience in developing and presenting professional-level training at the organization, community, and national level. Have experience in developing, administering, and publishing research. Have experience connecting with community, professional, and legislative stakeholders to advocate for client services and needs. Have a proven record of actively working to promote diversity, equity, and inclusion within professional realm of influence. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities we look for Knowledge of agency vision, mission, and services. Knowledge of supervisory requirements and practices. Ability to be flexible and adapt to changing needs and time pressures. Ability to exercise discretion and sound judgement. Ability to disseminate information clearly and concisely. Ability to communicate professionally with coworkers, customers, donors, and vendors. Ability to create and sustain positive working relationships with all levels of the agency; internal and external. Working Conditions This position requires sustained periods of work on the computer, including writing/typing. This position requires frequent communication with others, in-person and via telephone/virtual conferencing. The employee will be asked to move around rooms or within a space. The employee may occasionally be asked to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, or greater with assistance. The employee must have transportation to all Agency sites, including external locations where events are held. This position occasionally requires evening and/or weekend work.
