Intertek is continually innovating and evolving to reduce risk for consumers, brands and organizations in every sector and industry around the world.</i>&nbsp;<i>We go beyond Testing, Inspection and Certification of products: we are a Total Quality Assurance Provider to industries worldwide.</i>&nbsp;<i>Our Purpose: Bringing quality, safety, and sustainability to life.</i></p><p class=\"MsoNormal\"><strong>What are we looking for?</strong></p><p style=\"line-height:normal;margin-bottom:0in;text-align:justify;\">Under the direction of the Laboratory Supervisor, the <strong>Fire Assay Technician&nbsp;</strong>is responsible for&nbsp;processing client samples through the laboratory Fire Assay facility, including weighing, fluxing, fusion, digestion and presentation to AAS/ICP OES.</p><p style=\"line-height:normal;margin-bottom:0in;text-align:justify;\">&nbsp;</p><p class=\"MsoNormal\"><strong>Shift/Schedule: 12 hour rotating shifts</strong></p><p class=\"MsoNormal\"><strong>Salary &amp; Benefits Information</strong></p><p class=\"MsoNormal\">In addition to competitive compensation packages, when working with Intertek you can expect benefits including medical, dental, vision, life, disability, 401(k) with company match, generous vacation / sick time (PTO), tuition reimbursement and more.</p><p class=\"MsoNormal\">&nbsp;</p><p class=\"MsoNormal\"><strong>What you’ll do:</strong></p><ul><li><p style=\"line-height:normal;margin-bottom:0in;\">Ensure all sampling, testing and analysis is conducted safely and accurately to&nbsp;maintain&nbsp;consistent quality standards&nbsp;</p></li><li><p style=\"line-height:normal;margin-bottom:0in;\">Participate&nbsp;in:&nbsp;daily pre-start meetings, shift handovers, Safety meetings&nbsp;&nbsp;</p></li><li><p style=\"line-height:normal;margin-bottom:0in;\">Prepare samples using a variety of digestion,&nbsp;Fire assay&nbsp;and fusion methods testing&nbsp;in accordance with&nbsp;laboratory work instructions and test methods&nbsp;with use of&nbsp;appropriate PPE&nbsp;</p></li><li><p style=\"line-height:normal;margin-bottom:0in;\">Ensure&nbsp;accurate&nbsp;sample reconciliation and chain of custody is&nbsp;maintained.&nbsp;Immediately report any anomalies to the supervisor/manager&nbsp;</p></li><li><p style=\"line-height:normal;margin-bottom:0in;\">Undertake analysis of samples in accordance&nbsp;to&nbsp;documented Intertek laboratory procedures,&nbsp;demonstrating&nbsp;competency to work alone and unassisted as appropriate&nbsp;</p></li><li><p style=\"line-height:normal;margin-bottom:0in;\">Develop and&nbsp;demonstrate&nbsp;the ability to multi-task and self-manage multiple jobs at once to maximize time utilization&nbsp;</p></li><li><p style=\"line-height:normal;margin-bottom:0in;\">Complete work&nbsp;in a timely manner&nbsp;by following the priorities set, this includes but is not limited to picking up of samples, sample preparation, and instrumentation duties&nbsp;</p></li><li><p style=\"line-height:normal;margin-bottom:0in;\">Conducting the routine weekly jobs about the laboratory involving reasonable manual labor required for the maintenance of a clean and contaminant free environment, Work surfaces, Safety&nbsp;cabinets&nbsp;and equipment.&nbsp;</p></li><li><p style=\"line-height:normal;margin-bottom:0in;\">Sample preparation duties such as racking of samples onto and off trolleys and shelving, subsampling, sieving, and compositing of samples&nbsp;</p></li><li><p style=\"line-height:normal;margin-bottom:0in;\">Weighing of samples for various analyses&nbsp;</p></li><li><p style=\"line-height:normal;margin-bottom:0in;\">Inputting results to the Intertek laboratory information management system: MINLIMS&nbsp;</p></li><li><p style=\"line-height:normal;margin-bottom:0in;\">Preparing reports and presenting them for quality control checking by the Laboratory Supervisor and Lab Manager&nbsp;</p></li><li><p style=\"line-height:normal;margin-bottom:0in;\">Comply with&nbsp;all work instructions, work procedures, safe work procedures, safe work instructions, and lawful directions provided by the supervisor, whether written or verbal.&nbsp;</p></li></ul><p class=\"MsoNormal\">This position outline is a general guideline and does not represent all encompassing details.
