The Music Therapist will be serving clients in mental health recovery, with an approach that follows AWP principles and mission in order to create accessible, inclusive, culturally-aware, and fully-customized mental health support services. </span><br></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 16px\">The Music Therapist will work within multidisciplinary mental health teams and will follow a psychosocial rehabilitation approach focused on client’s choice. The Music Therapist will help develop intervention plans, including supporting a client’s journey toward autonomy by exploring music-based and sensory-based activities that can support the client in balancing their nervous system and bringing relief to symptoms outside of session. </span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><span style=\"font-size: 16px\">IMPORTANT NOTE:</span></span><span style=\"font-size: 16px\"> <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Up to 80% of clients are served in-home; a significant portion of the job involves travel between client homes within Milwaukee County.</span></span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><span style=\"color: #222222; font-size: 16px\">Job Qualifications:</span></span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 16px\">REQUIRED: Bachelor's</span><span style=\"font-size: 16px\"> or Master's degree in Music Therapy from an AMTA-approved program</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 16px\">REQUIRED: Board Certified Music Therapist (CBMT or WMTR)</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #222222; font-size: 16px\">REQUIRED: A valid WI driver's license, state-mandated auto insurance, and access to a personal vehicle for travel to in-home appointments within Milwaukee County.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #222222; font-size: 16px\">PREFERRED: prior </span><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">work experience as a trauma-informed music therapist in a mental health setting.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #222222; font-size: 16px\">Excellent professional communication and customer service skills.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #222222; font-size: 16px\">Ability to work independently with solid organization and time management skills.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #222222; font-size: 16px\">Ability to speak multiple languages is a plus.</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><a href=\"https://drive.google.com/file/d/1fBUba4H4h2OQMOSxMQcVI6YGhrSmNEy3/view?usp=sharing\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-size: 16px\">Click here to access the full job description.</span></a></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #222222; font-size: 16px\">At Ascent Wellness Program, we know that the way we treat our providers ripples out into the services our clients receive, so our culture is one that values community, open communication, acceptance, and support.
