Meade, MD</strong>.  Prior specific experience in site construction with GPS-controlled equipment is preferred.  Latemodel CAT equipment will be operated.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Why Work for Harnden Construction Services? </strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Competitive salary commensurate with experience</li>\n <li>Veteran owned</li>\n <li>Company-paid Health Benefits</li>\n <li>401(k) Savings and Investment Plan</li>\n <li>Tuition reimbursement programs available to qualifying employees for approved programs</li>\n <li>Additional training opportunities including on the job, online through the H&K Academy, manufacturer offered training, and more</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<p><strong>Essential Duties and Responsibilities</strong><strong> </strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Performs all work according to MSHA and H&K Safety policies</li>\n <li>Perform pre and post trip of equipment every day and fill out daily inspection sheets</li>\n <li>Starts engine, shifts gears, presses pedals, and turns steering wheel/moves joysticks/levers to operate heavy equipment including excavator with hammer</li>\n <li>Provide excellent customer service to all customers on site</li>\n <li>Maintains haul roads that are smooth and safe</li>\n <li>Keep stockpiles properly bermed and maintained</li>\n <li>Ensure product is blended correctly</li>\n <li>Performs routine maintenance on equipment such as lubricating and cleaning</li>\n <li>Other duties as assigned</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p><strong>Required Skills, Education, and Experience</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>High school diploma or equivalent (such as the GED) from an accredited educational institution OR one year of related experience and/or training\n  <ul>\n   <li>Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered </li>\n  </ul></li>\n <li>Verbal and written communication skills</li>\n <li>Experience operating bulldozer</li>\n <li>Problem solving</li>\n <li>Ability to fit test & utilize appropriate PPE as needed</li>\n <li>Ability to meet physical requirements (movement, lifting, as relevant to job)</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong> </strong></p>\n<p> <strong>Preferred Skills, Education, and Experience</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>3 years related experience</li>\n <li>Experience working in a quarry, heavy civil construction, or other outdoor industrial setting</li>\n <li>MSHA or other relevant safety certification</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Physical Demands</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Regularly required to sit</li>\n <li>Regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel</li>\n <li>Regularly reach with hands and arms</li>\n <li>Frequently required to talk or hear</li>\n <li>Occasionally required to stand, walk, climb, or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl</li>\n <li>Occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds</li>\n <li>Specific vision abilities include distance, peripheral, and depth perception</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Work Environment</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Regularly exposed to outside weather conditions</li>\n <li>Regularly exposed to vibration</li>\n <li>Frequently exposed to fumes and airborne particles</li>\n <li>Frequently exposed to moving parts</li>\n <li>Noise level is usually loud</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Harnden Construction Services'</strong> mission is to build strong communities through project execution, construction employment, and community service. <strong>Harnden Construction Services, LLC</strong> is a civil sitework contractor with major site construction projects throughout Virginia, Maryland, and Pennsylvania.
