Description

Job Purpose Job Purpose Under the supervision of an LV Quality & Purchasing Supervisor or the department Manager, the LV Quality Specialist performs internal quality tasks to create error-free, linguistically validated Clinical Outcome Assessments (COAs).The role performs editing and proofreading of clinical study documents, reconciles discrepancies with internal and external resources as needed and ensures quality tasks are completed in a timely and thorough manner. Linguistic Validation (LV) is a specialized business unit within RWS Regulated Industries that focuses on the translation, validation, licensing, and electronic implementation of Clinical Outcome Assessments (COAs). COAs are questionnaires completed during clinical trials which allow sponsors to collect data about treatment effectiveness, side effects, and health status directly from patients and caregivers. The LV Team is over 20 years of experience in the COA field, positioning us as the industry leader. Our team performs a wide variety of functions in addition to translation, including recruitment and interviewing of patients around the world, development of novel research for presentation and publication, expertise in licensing and copyrights, and management of electronic implementation of COAs (eCOA) in over 80 languages. Job Overview Key Responsibilities Maintain accurate and up-to-date information in company records and databases, including effective management of project documentation. Utilize translator feedback systems as required. Review and update information in alignment with company Quality Management System (QMS) requirements. Understand project instructions thoroughly and communicate them clearly to translators, while supporting issue resolution as needed. Collaborate with LV colleagues to ensure all quality-related tasks are completed in line with project specifications. Maintain translations, including eCOA screen reports, in a timely, accurate, and efficient manner. Procure a limited number of services from qualified translators based on availability, language expertise, deadlines, cost, and other relevant criteria. Process and manage feedback on translation work provided by third parties accurately and efficiently. Ensure all assigned quality tasks are completed within defined timelines and that deliverables meet quality standards. Prepare supplementary quality materials required for delivery (e.g., certifications) with accuracy. Provide coverage and support for other LV Quality Specialists when required. Skills & Experience Bachelor’s degree in Business, English, Foreign Language, Social or Applied Sciences, or a related field. Experience in reviewing COA (Clinical Outcome Assessment) and eCOA (Electronic Clinical Outcome Assessment) localization documents. Fluency in a non-English language is preferred. Prior translation experience is advantageous. Strong organizational skills, with the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously. Ability to meet deadlines consistently while maintaining composure under pressure. Effective communication skills, with the ability to clearly understand and convey project requirements. Strong written and spoken English skills, with timely and clear responses to queries. Proficiency in computer applications and tools. Ability to independently identify issues and apply problem-solving techniques. Ability to collaborate effectively within diverse teams. Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information. Strong attention to detail with a focus on quality. Excellent proofreading and visual comparison skills. Good understanding of general linguistics. Comfort working with non-standard file types (e.g., .xml files) and basic formatting tags. Advanced understanding of English grammar, syntax, and semantics.
