The location of this position is flexible and can be structured as a remote work arrangement. </p>\n<p><em> </em></p>\n<p><em>Responsibilities</em></p>\n<p>The associate will support the firm’s Retirement, Executive Compensation and Tax Group on matters involving tax-qualified retirement plans, including 401(k), profit-sharing, traditional defined benefit and cash balance plan matters.  Responsibilities will include:</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Advising clients on retirement plan design, operation, and compliance with applicable Internal Revenue Code and ERISA requirements, including the SECURE 2.0 Act and legislative and regulatory developments.</li>\n <li>Drafting, reviewing, and updating plan documents, amendments, summary plan descriptions, and other participant communications.</li>\n <li>Conducting legal research and analysis to support client advice and firm initiatives. </li>\n <li>Working directly with clients and colleagues to identify, analyze, and address legal issues in a practical and timely manner.</li>\n <li>Collaborating with attorneys across the firm to deliver high-quality, client-focused legal services.</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><em>Qualifications</em></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Approximately 5-8 years of relevant legal experience with tax‑qualified retirement plans, such as 401(k), profit‑sharing, traditional defined benefit, and cash balance plans.</li>\n <li>A strong working knowledge of applicable ERISA and Internal Revenue Code requirements.</li>\n <li>Strong legal research, analytical, and writing skills.</li>\n <li>The ability to work both independently and collaboratively on complex matters. </li>\n <li>Attention to detail, sound professional judgment, and the ability to manage competing priorities. </li>\n <li>Strong academic credentials and a demonstrated commitment to professional growth.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><em><u> </u></em></p>\n<p><em><u> </u></em></p>\n<p><em><u>Equal Employment Opportunity and Accommodations </u></em><em><u> </u></em></p>\n<p><em>Groom Law Group, Chartered, is an equal-opportunity employer.
