This position provides strategic direction, manages a team of safety and compliance professionals, and serves as a key liaison with regulatory agencies and company leadership.<br><br>The ideal candidate will be an experienced safety leader who thrives in complex, fast-paced industrial environments and is passionate about fostering a strong safety culture.<br><br><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong><ul><li>Lead the Environmental, Safety, and Occupational Health (ESOH) Department, overseeing all environmental, health, safety, and compliance functions.</li><li>Supervise and develop safety and compliance staff responsible for OSHA, DOT, MSHA, and EPA requirements.</li><li>Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations (OSHA, DOT, EPA, DEP, MSHA).</li><li>Manage and respond to inspections, audits, and corrective actions.</li><li>Develop and update company safety programs, SOPs, and emergency response plans.</li><li>Conduct high-level risk assessments and implement hazard control measures.</li><li>Oversee training programs and ensure accessibility for multilingual employees.</li><li>Manage incident investigations, Root Cause Analysis, and corrective action tracking.</li><li>Maintain and submit OSHA 300, 300A, and 301 logs and other regulatory reports.</li><li>Oversee compliance reporting in third-party systems such as ISNetworld, Avetta, and Veriforce.</li><li>Conduct site safety inspections and participate in client audits.</li><li>Provide regular safety metrics and performance reports to executive leadership.</li><li>Support ISO 45001 program integration and internal audit processes.</li><li>Collaborate with HR on workers’ compensation, return-to-work programs, and drug and alcohol compliance.</li><li>Participate in the On-Call Manager rotation to support company-wide Emergency Response operations.</li><li>Champion a culture of safety, accountability, and regulatory excellence across the organization.</li></ul><strong>Qualifications</strong><ul><li>Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or related field (required).</li><li>5–7 years of progressive experience in environmental, health, and safety management in hazardous waste, oil/gas, or industrial services.</li><li>Minimum 3 years of leadership or supervisory experience.</li><li>OSHA 30-Hour or OSHA 510/500 certification required; MSHA certification preferred.</li><li>Certified Safety Professional (CSP) preferred; CHMM or CIH a plus.</li><li>Strong working knowledge of OSHA, DOT, EPA, DEP, and MSHA regulations.</li><li>Experience with ISO 45001, SPCC, and EPCRA programs preferred.</li><li>Proficient in Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint).</li><li>Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.</li><li>Valid Class E driver’s license required with a clear driving record.</li></ul><strong>Skills and Attributes</strong><ul><li>Excellent leadership and interpersonal communication.</li><li>Strong analytical, problem-solving, and incident investigation skills.</li><li>Professional demeanor and commitment to ethical conduct.</li><li>Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively across departments.</li><li>Dedicated to continuous improvement and operational safety excellence.</li></ul><strong>What We Offer</strong><ul><li>Competitive salary (commensurate with experience)</li><li>Comprehensive benefits package (medical, dental, vision, 401(k), and paid time off)</li><li>Professional development and certification support</li><li>Collaborative team culture focused on safety, integrity, and service excellence</li></ul><strong>Equal Employment Opportunity</strong><br><br>Cliff Berry, Inc. is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
