Instructs swim lessons in accordance with YMCA guidelines (i.e. keeping swimmers safe, challenged, and actively engaged, maintain a safe swimming environment, and enforcing pool rules &amp; policies), having prepared lesson plans accordingly.</span></p><p><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">2. Builds effective, authentic relationships with students and parents; helps them connect with each other and the YMCA. Encourage parent involvement and identifies potential volunteers.</span></p><p><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">3. Conveys information on aquatics programs and schedules; and as appropriate refers students and parents to other programs.</span></p><p><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">4. Maintains records as required (i.e. attendance, progress reports, etc.)</span></p><p><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">5. Attends staff meetings and trainings as scheduled.</span></p><p><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">6. Follows all YMCA policies, rules, regulations, and procedures, including emergency and safety procedures. Completes incident and accident reports, as necessary.</span></p><p><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">7. Organizes and puts away needed class equipment. Reports damaged equipment.</span></p><p><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">8. Trains and supervises class aides as assigned.</span></p><p><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">9. Willingness to accept responsibilities and duties other than those assigned.</span></p><p><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\"><strong>QUALIFICATIONS:</strong></span></p><p><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">1. Minimum age of 15.</span></p><p><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">2. Certifications: CPR for the Professional Rescuer, AED, Basic First Aid and Emergency Oxygen.</span></p><p><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">3. Must be able to demonstrate all stokes and swim instructor skills in accordance with YMCA standards.</span></p><p><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">4. Current American Red Cross Lifeguard, or equivalent preferred.</span></p><p><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">5. YMCA Swim Instructor certification, or equivalent preferred.</span></p><p><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\"><strong>Physical Demands:</strong></span></p><p><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">1. Ability to instruct and observe participants in proper stroke technique.</span></p><p><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">2.
