This position plays a vital role in supporting patients through medication-assisted treatment services while working alongside primary care, dental, behavioral health, and opioid use disorder treatment professionals in a collaborative clinic environment.</p>\n\n<p>The Dispensing Nurse II-RN is responsible for administering medications as ordered by medical providers, maintaining accurate medication inventory and dispensing records, and ensuring compliance with DEA, FDA, State Board of Pharmacy, and clinic standards. This position also provides direct patient care, nursing assessments, patient education, and support for individuals navigating recovery and wellness.</p>\n\n<p>Schedule</p>\n\n<p>Clinic schedule is Monday &ndash; Friday, 5:30 a.m. &ndash; 2:00 p.m. and Saturdays, 5:30 a.m. &ndash; 10:30 a.m. This position requires varied hours and days based on clinic and patient care needs.</p>\n\n<p>Essential Functions</p>\n\n<ul>\n\t<li>\n\t<p>Administer Methadone or Buprenorphine/Naloxone or Monotherapy Buprenorphine (Suboxone/Subutex) as ordered by the Medical Director and staff providers</p>\n\t</li>\n\t<li>\n\t<p>Maintain accurate accounting of all medication received from suppliers and dispensed to patients</p>\n\t</li>\n\t<li>\n\t<p>Safeguard medication stock and maintain records required by the DEA, State Board of Pharmacy, and JHC</p>\n\t</li>\n\t<li>\n\t<p>Conduct breath alcohol testing, urine collection and processing, and interpret test results as needed</p>\n\t</li>\n\t<li>\n\t<p>Measure and record patient vital signs, complete nursing-level physical assessments, provide patient care and treatment including wound care, and deliver patient education</p>\n\t</li>\n\t<li>\n\t<p>Assess patient physical condition and report observations to providers verbally and/or in writing</p>\n\t</li>\n\t<li>\n\t<p>Alert treatment staff of observed changes in patient status</p>\n\t</li>\n\t<li>\n\t<p>Enter and update prescriptions and medications within the electronic health record system</p>\n\t</li>\n\t<li>\n\t<p>Accurately chart patient encounters and incidents according to required guidelines</p>\n\t</li>\n\t<li>\n\t<p>Record inter-agency communications relating to patients in a timely and confidential manner</p>\n\t</li>\n\t<li>\n\t<p>Educate patients on the proper use and effects of dispensed medications</p>\n\t</li>\n\t<li>\n\t<p>Maintain current statistical records</p>\n\t</li>\n\t<li>\n\t<p>Sterilize equipment and supplies using appropriate infection control procedures</p>\n\t</li>\n\t<li>\n\t<p>Adhere to all JHC policies and procedures including HIPAA, safety standards, and Occupational Exposure Control Plan requirements</p>\n\t</li>\n\t<li>\n\t<p>Perform other duties as assigned</p>\n\t</li>\n</ul>\n\n<p>Required Qualifications</p>\n\n<ul>\n\t<li>\n\t<p>Graduation from an accredited school of nursing</p>\n\t</li>\n\t<li>\n\t<p>Current, unrestricted RN license in the State of Washington</p>\n\t</li>\n\t<li>\n\t<p>Minimum three years of experience in a clinic setting</p>\n\t</li>\n\t<li>\n\t<p>Experience using Electronic Health Records (EHRs)</p>\n\t</li>\n\t<li>\n\t<p>Knowledge of current medical practices in primary care, mental health, and addiction medicine</p>\n\t</li>\n\t<li>\n\t<p>Knowledge of substance use disorders and their effects on individuals, families, and communities</p>\n\t</li>\n\t<li>\n\t<p>Strong professional and ethical boundaries, empathy, and communication skills</p>\n\t</li>\n\t<li>\n\t<p>Ability to work effectively in a cross-cultural environment and understand the impact of trauma, historical experiences, family, community, and personal experiences on recovery and wellness</p>\n\t</li>\n\t<li>\n\t<p>Understanding of and adherence to state and federal confidentiality regulations including 42 CFR Part 2, RCW, and WAC requirements</p>\n\t</li>\n\t<li>\n\t<p>Effective written, verbal, interpersonal, conflict resolution, and organizational skills</p>\n\t</li>\n\t<li>\n\t<p>Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite</p>\n\t</li>\n\t<li>\n\t<p>Ability to successfully pass a criminal background investigation</p>\n\t</li>\n\t<li>\n\t<p>Ability to meet all current vaccine requirements for employment</p>\n\t</li>\n\t<li>\n\t<p>Valid Washington State Driver&rsquo;s License</p>\n\t</li>\n\t<li>\n\t<p>CPR/First Aid Certification, or ability to complete employer-provided training upon hire</p>\n\t</li>\n\t<li>\n\t<p>Ability to travel locally and regionally as assigned</p>\n\t</li>\n</ul>\n\n<p>Preferred Qualifications</p>\n\n<ul>\n\t<li>\n\t<p>Previous substance abuse treatment and/or primary care experience</p>\n\t</li>\n\t<li>\n\t<p>Knowledge of local, state, and federal laws and regulations</p>\n\t</li>\n\t<li>\n\t<p>Knowledge of office administrative operations, personnel management, and compliance practices</p>\n\t</li>\n\t<li>\n\t<p>Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks</p>\n\t</li>\n\t<li>\n\t<p>Strong time management, decision-making, and problem-solving abilities</p>\n\t</li>\n\t<li>\n\t<p>Ability to demonstrate initiative and work independently with minimal supervision</p>\n\t</li>\n\t<li>\n\t<p>American Indian/Alaska Native preference applies</p>\n\t</li>\n</ul>\n",
