As part of our dynamic team, you can lead the way, as we continue our journey towards high reliability care!</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Right now we’re looking for a <strong> Registered Practical Nurse </strong>to work in our Acute Medicine Unit, 12 West</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Employment Status: Permanent Full-time</strong></p>\n<p><strong>Reporting Relationship:</strong> Manager, 12 E/W</p>\n<p><strong>Hourly Rate:</strong> $38.893 - $39.458</p>\n<p><strong>Union Group: </strong> NOWU</p>\n<p><strong>Hours of work:</strong>  Rotating shifts, 8 or 12 hours, days/evenings/nights/weekends</p>\n<p><strong> Location:</strong> Humber River Health – Hennick Humber Hospital</p>\n<p><strong>Responsibilities:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li><p>RPN responsibilities for general medicine, geriatric, ALC and palliative inpatients.</p></li>\n <li><p>Coordination of care within an interprofessional team</p></li>\n <li><p>Complete electronic Meditech 6.0 documentation system</p></li>\n <li><p>Participation in unit based projects or hospital committees as required</p></li>\n <li><p>Mentorship for new hires and pre-grad RPN nursing students</p></li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Requirements:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Graduate from a recognized Registered Practical Nursing two year diploma program.</li>\n <li>Current RPN registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario.</li>\n <li>Current BCLS certification.</li>\n <li>Excellent organizational skills with an ability to set priorities.</li>\n <li>Minimum 2 years of recent medical/geriatric experience is preferred.</li>\n <li>Critical thinking and prioritization skills required.</li>\n <li>Excellent organizational skills and ability to problem solve with the team.</li>\n <li>Experience with patient health teaching.</li>\n <li>Demonstrate competency in a variety of skills including (but not limited to), intramuscular injections, intravenous therapy initiation and discontinuation, Blood Transfusion, Wound Care Dressing, Medication Administration, etc.</li>\n <li>Demonstrate adherence to the hospital’s code of conduct.</li>\n <li>Advance Physical Assessment Skill is required.</li>\n <li>Basic computer skills and Meditech 6.0 experience is an asset.</li>\n <li>Knowledge of community resources.</li>\n <li>Excellent attendance and discipline free record required. </li>\n <li>An understanding of equity, diversity, and inclusion principles as they relate to health practices is an asset.
