Description Nemours Children’s Health, Becks Woods is seeking an Occupational Therapist (Full-Time) to join our outpatient program in Bear, Delaware. Additionally, Nemours Children’s Health allows us to reach more children across the region through community-based physician services and collaborative partnerships with health and hospital systems. Provides occupational therapy patient examination, evaluation, intervention, documentation, parent/caregiver education, communication, and coordination of care with medical/clinical staff and outside agencies as appropriate within the guidelines designated by the department and the Delaware Valley policies and procedures. This is a great opportunity to join a busy and growing Therapy team. We provide occupational therapy for patients with a wide variety of diagnoses, ranging in age from birth to 17. We are also an early intervention partner with Delaware’s Birth to Three Early Intervention Program, providing clinic-based services. Demonstrates proficiency in the care of all ages: pediatrics, adolescents, and adults. Able to provide occupational therapy services to a variety of patient types with recognition of his/her own limitations while seeking appropriate mentorship as needed. Completes timely documentation as required by departmental policy #7980.3.3, Joint Commission, and CARF standards. Attends meetings related to patient treatment and contributes to discussion as an interdisciplinary team member. Consults with other services, families, and outside agencies to recommend durable medical equipment, home/school modifications and transitional therapy program prior to discharge from therapy. Maintains knowledge of and familiarity with insurance referral/authorization process and documentation requirements related to therapy services. Completes all mandatory training; may include, but not limited to safety, infection control, corporate compliance, HIPAA, bioterrorism, CPR, and program specific respiratory training. Participates in triage and coverage planning as necessary to meet patient care and departmental needs. When required by assignment, participates in weekend/holiday inpatient coverage rotation, including checking the code blue cart per guideline #7980. GL.24. Teamwork: Participates in conflict identification and resolution. Works cooperatively on multidisciplinary, single discipline, program specific and specialty teams. Assists in maintenance of department space and equipment. Professional Development: Independently seeks to expand clinical knowledge and evidenced based practice through literature reviews, in-services, courses, and mentorships.  May provide input on new treatment intervention strategies to ensure evidenced-based and current practices.  Based on programmatic need and licensure requirements maybe required to provide inpatient/outpatient coverage at various locations associated with Nemours. Job Requirements Master's Degree in Occupational Therapy or its equivalent from an ACOTE-accredited university required. Minimum of three (3) to six (6) months experience required. New graduates will be considered based on educational experiences. State of Delaware Occupational Therapist License required upon hire. A second license will be required for all clinical positions. Must submit license or proof of application submission within 2 weeks of job acceptance, but this second license is not required to be active at the start of employment. All clinical staff will maintain dual licensure (DE, PA, NJ, MD). Compact licensure is acceptable for primary and secondary licensure when the practitioner is eligible and maintains an active home-state license in a Compact state. Pennsylvania clearances are required upon hire for those with a Pennsylvania license. American Heart Association BLS certification required within 6 months of date of hire and must be maintained for duration of employment. Member of professional specialty organizations (AOTA, State Occupational Therapy Assoc.) preferred. Clinical affiliation and/or work experience in pediatrics preferred.
