Description

POSITION SUMMARY: The Ultrasound Technician directly works with patients and Providers and operates machinery equipment that uses high-frequency soundwaves to record images and scans of the body's internal organs. The Ultrasound Technician ensures images submitted to the Radiologist are optimal for reading and maintains utmost confidentiality. RESPONSIBILITIES: Prepare the exam room and ultrasound equipment to conduct examinations. Recognize and record the appropriate anatomy and pathology using sonographic equipment. Care properly for sonography equipment and report equipment failure to Medical Center Administrator. Complete tech report based upon the scan results and completion. Alert appropriate medical staff of any abnormalities that need immediate attention. Maintain the strictest levels of confidentiality. Other tasks as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS: High School diploma or GED Equivalent (required). Successful completion of Diagnostic Medical Sonography program. Current active Florida state license (required). Excellent Interpersonal skills. Work independently or with minimal supervision and as part of a team
