Lead High-Impact Projects.</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>BFW Engineering is seeking a seasoned Professional Engineer to lead our <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Phase III Construction Engineering practice</span> in Springfield. This is a high-visibility leadership role where you’ll drive delivery of roadway, bridge, and infrastructure projects while mentoring a talented team and strengthening key client relationships across Illinois.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>If you are a respected construction engineering leader with deep IDOT experience and a passion for building teams and delivering quality projects, we want to hear from you.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Essential Job Functions/Responsibilities</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Lead &amp; Develop the Team</span> – Mentor resident engineers, inspectors, and technicians while building a high-performing Phase III group.</li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Oversee Project Delivery &amp; Operations</span> – Direct construction inspection, contract administration, and day-to-day field activities while managing schedules, budgets, staffing, and quality across multiple projects.</li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Ensure Technical Excellence &amp; Compliance</span> – Uphold IDOT standards (Construction Manual, BLRS Manual, Standard Specifications) and serve as the firm’s technical authority on Phase III practices, documentation, and systems (ICORS/SiMA).</li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Manage Documentation &amp; Field Coordination</span> – Review pay estimates, change orders, and project records while resolving field issues and coordinating with contractors and resident engineers.</li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Build Relationships &amp; Support Growth</span> – Serve as a trusted partner to IDOT, local agencies, and contractors while contributing to business development and industry engagement.</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Education/Experience</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (ABET-accredited) or related field</li>\n<li>Illinois Professional Engineer (PE)</li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">10+ years of transportation construction engineering experience</span>, including IDOT Phase III work.
