Maintains safe swimming conditions in the pool, on the deck, and surrounding areas. Creates a safe and positive atmosphere that promotes member safety and engagement in accordance with YMCA policies and procedures.</span></p><p><span style=\"font-size: 14px; font-family: arial, sans-serif; color: rgb(0, 0, 0);\"><strong>ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:</strong></span></p><ul><li dir=\"auto\" style=\"font-size: 14px; font-family: arial, sans-serif; color: rgb(0, 0, 0);\">Addresses member concerns, directs members to program areas or lane needs. Supports the overall Aquatic team.&nbsp;</li><li id=\"isPasted\" style=\"font-size: 14px; font-family: arial, sans-serif; color: rgb(0, 0, 0);\">Serve as designated secondary responder to aquatics emergency situations and support lifeguards.</li><li id=\"isPasted\" style=\"font-size: 14px; font-family: arial, sans-serif; color: rgb(0, 0, 0);\">Backwash pool filters, clean strainer baskets, minor pump room repairs.</li><li id=\"isPasted\" style=\"font-size: 14px; font-family: arial, sans-serif; color: rgb(0, 0, 0);\">Clean/maintain pool decks, test pool water chemistry and record according to YMCA and local Health Department requirements.</li><li dir=\"auto\" style=\"font-size: 14px; font-family: arial, sans-serif; color: rgb(0, 0, 0);\">Knows/reviews all emergency procedures and responds to emergency situations immediately in accordance with YMCA policies and procedures. Completes related reports as required.</li><li dir=\"auto\" style=\"font-size: 14px; font-family: arial, sans-serif; color: rgb(0, 0, 0);\">Knows, understands, and consistently applies safety rules, policies and guidelines for the pool and aquatic area.
