    "description": "<h2>Overview</h2>\n<p>The Director of Oral and Facial Pain focuses on the diagnosis and treatment of patient with oral and maxillofacial pain and will assist with Touro College of Dental Medicine's continued development of an Oral Facial Pain Center. The Orofacial Pain discipline assesses, diagnoses and treats patients with complex, chronic pain in the mouth, jaws, and face.</p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Clinical and didactic teaching at the pre- and post-DDS level, research activity, patient care at the Oral Facial Pain Center, and service.</li>\n <li>The Director will provide and oversee the assessment, diagnosis and treatment of patients with complex, chronic pain in the mouth, jaws, and face.</li>\n <li>Directing course content with teaching in Oral Facial Pain, sleep dentistry & other curriculum content as determined by the Dean, Vice Dean, or Assistant Dean.</li>\n <li>This represents a unique and challenging opportunity to become a leading facilitator in higher education in Orofacial Pain and interprofessional pain education, and to join a multidisciplinary team of pain clinicians in the delivery of care for patients suffering from chronic orofacial pain and comorbid pain conditions.</li>\n <li>In addition, there is the exciting opportunity to collaborate in ongoing pain research in key areas ranging from pain neurobiology to translational pain medicine.</li>\n <li>Miscellaneous tasks and duties as may be assigned by TCDM leadership.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<h4>Education/Experience</h4>\n<ul>\n <li>Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS), Doctor of Medical Dentistry (DMD), or equivalent degree required.</li>\n <li>At least 5 years experience in the treatment and management of patients with oral facial pain required; experience in the clinical management of chronic orofacial pain conditions and dental sleep medicine preferred.</li>\n</ul>\n<h4>Certifications/Licensures</h4>\n<ul>\n <li>Dental License Registration required.</li>\n <li>NPI Number required.</li>\n <li>CPR Certification required.</li>\n <li>NYS license required.</li>\n <li>DEA Number required.</li>\n <li>Certificate or higher level of training in Orofacial Pain required</li>\n <li>Board eligible/certified.</li>\n</ul>\n<h4>Knowledge/Skills/Abilities</h4>\n<ul>\n <li>Knowledge of current imaging techniques and digital applications.</li>\n <li>General administrative duties. </li>\n <li>Strong attention to details.</li>\n <li>Proven self-starter.</li>\n <li>Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. </li>\n <li>Effectively manage and organize daily tasks independently and with a team while balancing multiple projects and meeting deadlines.</li>\n <li>Accuracy and productivity in completing tasks. </li>\n <li>Customer service and team-orientated. </li>\n <li>A high degree of interpersonal competency: Professionalism, diplomacy, judgement and discretion.</li>\n <li>Overall business acumen, ethical decision making, and relationship management skills. </li>\n <li>Demonstrated ability to develop positive and cooperative relationships with students, faculty, and colleagues. </li>\n <li>Ability to solve complex problems and meet deadlines.</li>\n <li>Exceptional analytical, problem solving skills, collaboration, and matrix management skills.</li>\n <li>Demonstrated proficiency in communication (written and verbal). </li>\n</ul>\n<ul></ul>\n<h4>Travel</h4>\n<ul>\n <li>As needed</li>\n</ul>\n<h4>Working Conditions</h4>\n<ul>\n <li>Extensive Use of Computers.</li>\n <li>Extensive time sitting and standing.</li>\n <li>Donning of PPE.</li>\n <li>Able to lift up to 5 lbs.</li>\n <li>Able to assist patient transfer if need.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Maximum Salary</h2>USD $185,436.00/Yr.\n<h2>Minimum Salary</h2>USD $148,348.00/Yr.",
