This is not a sit-back-and-observe role — you will be on the floor coaching operators, solving problems in real time, balancing production demands, and keeping both employees and leadership aligned.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>What You’ll Do</strong></p><ul><li>Lead daily CNC department operations to meet production schedules, quality standards, and safety requirements</li><li>Actively manage workflow, staffing, and machine utilization to maximize productivity and minimize scrap</li><li>Work hands-on with CNC equipment as needed — including setup, troubleshooting, training, and process validation</li><li>Train, coach, and develop operators with varying experience levels and skill sets</li><li>Set clear expectations, address performance issues promptly, and recognize strong performance</li><li>Balance employee needs, operational realities, and leadership expectations — often simultaneously</li><li>Review and act on performance data including labor hours, overtime, productivity, quality, and cross-training</li><li>Maintain and manage DMS Production Boards and other departmental tracking tools</li><li>Implement and improve systems, processes, and standard work to drive efficiency and consistency</li><li>Identify root causes of production or quality issues and lead corrective actions</li><li>Make sound, defensible decisions aligned with Freeman policies, safety standards, and financial responsibility</li><li>Maintain accurate production and labor records and ensure consistent policy application</li><li>Perform other duties as assigned to support overall manufacturing objectives</li></ul><p><strong>What We’re Looking For</strong></p><p><strong>Leadership &amp; Operations</strong></p><ul><li>Proven ability to lead from the floor — coaching, correcting, and supporting in real time</li><li>Comfortable holding people accountable while maintaining trust and morale</li><li>Strong judgment and decision-making skills under pressure</li><li>Ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization</li><li>Patient, consistent, and effective trainer and mentor</li></ul><p><strong>Technical Experience</strong></p><ul><li>Strong machining background with CNC and manual machines</li><li>Experience with:    <ul>      <li>Eastman C135 Conveyor Cutting System</li>      <li>Onsrud 145M12D CNC Router</li>    </ul></li><li>Ability to teach machining fundamentals and advanced techniques</li><li>Demonstrated track record of driving process improvement and operational efficiency</li></ul><p><strong>Skills &amp; Qualifications</strong></p><ul><li>Excellent verbal and written communication skills</li><li>Strong organizational and planning abilities</li><li>Experience evaluating employee performance and delivering constructive feedback</li></ul><p><strong>Work Environment &amp; Physical Requirements</strong></p><ul><li>Manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, dust, fumes, vibration, and moving mechanical parts</li><li>PPE required: eye and hearing protection, gloves, respirators, protective clothing as applicable</li><li>Ability to lift up to 50 lbs</li><li>Frequent standing, walking, bending, climbing, and working on the production floor</li><li>Non-climate-controlled environment with exposure to heat, cold, dust, and chemicals (acetone, resin, fiberglass, adhesives, cleaners)</li></ul><p><strong>What We Offer</strong></p><ul><li>Competitive compensation</li><li>Comprehensive benefits: medical, dental, vision, company-paid life &amp; disability + more!</li><li>401(k) with company match</li><li>Paid time off and holidays&nbsp;</li><li>A collaborative, people-focused workplace built on craftsmanship and innovation</li></ul><p>Please note:&nbsp;Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a background check and drug screening.</p>",
