Position Summary As an Industrial / Continuous Improvement Engineer, you will work to support the entire Seneca Falls Operations site and other CI team members to identify defects or waste in the production process through Flow Analysis, Simulation, Value Stream Maps, and other tools and then devise improved methods to sustainably improve process capabilities. Essential Responsibilities Key objectives:• In this meaningful role, you will have the opportunity to apply Industrial Engineering and Lean concepts to improve product and information flow, reduce inventory, meet customer delivery, increase capacity, reduce complexity, and reduce costs• Lead and/or participate in project teams to apply Industrial Engineering tools to yield process and flow improvements with the purpose of reducing cost, growing capacity, or reducing complexity• Implement Lean fundamental concepts such as value stream mapping and layout concepts for flow and pull to implement continuous flowEssential Job Functions:• Assist in gap analysis and analyzation of complex factory operations and supply chains to determine optimum configurations to help execute the strategic vision for the SFO lean transformation utilizing Continuous Improvement methodologies• Ensure facility efficiency and workplace safety.• Facilitate the planning and implementation of workplace flow & layout improvements according to Industrial and Lean Engineering concepts• Responsible for evaluating and recommending new technologies or more efficient manufacturing process to support new and existing product lines touching on plan for every part, SMED, TPM, OEE, Value Stream Mapping, Visual Factory etc.• Lead projects of small to large scope and impact to meet customer expectations including leading Kaizen events (schedule meetings, handle any follow up and hand over to ops leaders upon completion) and other events on factory transformation using DMAIC methodology• Perform cost evaluations and justification analysis; evaluate systems, methods, human factors, workflow, and other opportunities for productivity improvement• Develop and execute lean and continuous improvement plans and projects; including requirements, deliverables, resources, timing and risks• Communicate ideas and project status clearly and professionally through graphic and written media, and oral presentations. Provide necessary documentation of activities, results, assignments.• Maintain knowledge of and expertise in the latest developments in the areas of Industrial and Lean Engineering; define their applicability to Goulds Pumps; develop and apply these systems and technologies through successful projects• Responsible for the accuracy of work performed; take a can-do approach to ensure quality of work• Serve as a technical coach for peers/customers as required• Perform cycle time and bottleneck analyses.• Develop and improve work methods.• Interact with production management on all matters relating to productivity and utilization..• Attend training sessions, seminars, and conferences to expand job knowledge and skills repertoire.Please note that pursuant to a government contract, this specific position requires US citizenship or permanent green card status. Position Requirements Required Education, Experience, & Skills• Minimum of 3 – 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment performing related functions in machining/assembly environment in a high mix low volume facility working as an industrial or manufacturing engineer.• Working knowledge of engineering fundamentals, lean concepts (such as Six Sigma or other Continuous Improvement methodologies), practices, and tools is required• Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience. Industrial/Systems/Manufacturing Engineering degree preferred.• Experience improving material and product flow in operations, connecting flow in operations• Understand facility constraints such as space, machine capacity, materials movement, and utilities• Must have strong interpersonal / relationship-building skills.• Demonstrated strong knowledge of metal machining and assembly functions in a high mix low volume manufacturing environment.• Must be able to read and interpret technical drawings.• Must be familiar with ISO processes.• Demonstrated knowledge of project management principles.• Capability to develop a project plan and to manage a project to completion.• Solid working knowledge of MS Office• Strong written and verbal communication skills with a proficiency in English• Must be comfortable working within a union environment #LI-RL1 This position requires use of information which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).     "responsibilities": "Key objectives:\r\n• In this meaningful role, you will have the opportunity to apply Industrial Engineering \r\nand Lean concepts to improve product and information flow, reduce inventory, meet \r\ncustomer delivery, increase capacity, reduce complexity, and reduce costs\r\n• Lead and/or participate in project teams to apply Industrial Engineering tools to \r\nyield process and flow improvements with the purpose of reducing cost, growing \r\ncapacity, or reducing complexity\r\n• Implement Lean fundamental concepts such as value stream mapping and layout \r\nconcepts for flow and pull to implement continuous flow\r\nEssential Job Functions:\r\n• Assist in gap analysis and analyzation of complex factory operations and supply \r\nchains to determine optimum configurations to help execute the strategic vision for \r\nthe SFO lean transformation utilizing Continuous Improvement methodologies\r\n• Ensure facility efficiency and workplace safety.\r\n• Facilitate the planning and implementation of workplace flow & layout \r\nimprovements according to Industrial and Lean Engineering concepts\r\n• Responsible for evaluating and recommending new technologies or more efficient \r\nmanufacturing process to support new and existing product lines touching on plan \r\nfor every part, SMED, TPM, OEE, Value Stream Mapping, Visual Factory etc.\r\n• Lead projects of small to large scope and impact to meet customer expectations \r\nincluding leading Kaizen events (schedule meetings, handle any follow up and hand \r\nover to ops leaders upon completion) and other events on factory \r\ntransformation using DMAIC methodology\r\n• Perform cost evaluations and justification analysis; evaluate systems, methods, \r\nhuman factors, workflow, and other opportunities for productivity improvement\r\n• Develop and execute lean and continuous improvement plans and projects; \r\nincluding requirements, deliverables, resources, timing and risks\r\n• Communicate ideas and project status clearly and professionally through graphic \r\nand written media, and oral presentations. Provide necessary documentation of \r\nactivities, results, assignments.\r\n• Maintain knowledge of and expertise in the latest developments in the areas of \r\nIndustrial and Lean Engineering; define their applicability to Goulds Pumps; develop \r\nand apply these systems and technologies through successful projects\r\n• Responsible for the accuracy of work performed; take a can-do approach to ensure \r\nquality of work\r\n• Serve as a technical coach for peers/customers as required\r\n• Perform cycle time and bottleneck analyses.\r\n• Develop and improve work methods.\r\n• Interact with production management on all matters relating to productivity and \r\nutilization..\r\n• Attend training sessions, seminars, and conferences to expand job knowledge and \r\nskills repertoire.\r\nPlease note that pursuant to a government contract, this specific position requires US \r\ncitizenship or permanent green card status.",
