As part of our commitment to provide access to quality medical care to children and families, we have a number of outreach clinics available throughout the world.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p></p>\n<h2>Job Overview</h2>\n<p>Shriners Children's New England has an opportunity for a Medical Assistant to join our team!</p>\n<p>The position is day shift, Monday - Friday.  </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>The pay range for this position is $19.69 hourly to $29.54 hourly. Compensation is determined based on years of experience and department equity.</p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<p>Under the leadership of the Outpatient Department Manager and the indirect supervision of Physicians/APPs, the Medical Assistant assists with the delivery of patient care in the clinic by maintaining clinic flow, obtains routine clinical information on patients/family, provides physical care of the patients, procures and maintains par levels of clinic supplies, and provides light clerical assistance.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Additional Medical Assistant tasks include:</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Transcribing of delegated orders into the EMR</li>\n <li>Casting/splint application, maintenance guidance and removal</li>\n <li>Obtaining specimens, including performing venipuncture</li>\n</ul>\n<p>This is not an all-inclusive list of this job’s responsibilities. The incumbent may be required to perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.</p>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p><strong>Required:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Basic Life Support (BLS) </li>\n <li>Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program</li>\n <li>Ability to sit for certification exam from nationally recognized organization (i.e. American Association for Medical Assistants </li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Preferred:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>One to two years' experience as a Medical Assistant</li>\n <li>Associate's degree</li>\n <li>Two years' pediatric care experience</li>\n <li>National Board for Certification of Orthopedic Technology </li>\n <li>Certified Phlebotomy Technician</li>\n</ul>\n<p><em>Shriners Children’s is an EOE/Drug-Free, Smoke-Free Workplace.</em> </p>\n<p> </p>",
