This is a remote / virtual role with the ability to travel extensively to support project needs for various Department of Defense and other federal government sites across the United States. This role will require extensive travel, typically around 75%. Johnson Controls Federal Systems (JCFS) is a specialized team serving as a trusted partner to the federal government. We help modernize U.S. military installations, Department of Defense and other federal agency facilities to be smarter, more resilient, efficient, sustainable, and secure. <br><br><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Location:</span> Remote/Virtual with the ability to travel up to 75% of the time. Based in the Huntsville, AL or Washington D.C. Metro/DMV area preferred.<br><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Pay range:</span> $85,000 - $105,000 base salary. All travel related expenses are paid for by the company. <span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><br></span></span></span></p>\n<p><span style=\"color: windowtext; font-family: 'book antiqua', palatino; font-size: 14px\"> </span></p>\n<p><span style=\"color: windowtext; font-family: 'book antiqua', palatino; font-size: 14px\">As a Traveling <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Security Systems Engineer</span>, you will:</span></p>\n<p><span style=\"color: windowtext; font-family: 'book antiqua', palatino; font-size: 14px\"> </span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: 'book antiqua', palatino; font-size: 14px\"><span style=\"color: windowtext\">Act as an on-site project leader to plan, execute, and complete Electronic Security projects with assigned customers in a safe and cost effective manner. </span></span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: 'book antiqua', palatino; font-size: 14px\"><span style=\"color: windowtext\">Performs or delegates tasks as required to execute and fully complete assigned projects including: system programming, integration, installation coordination, system and network commissioning and project closeout</span></span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: 'book antiqua', palatino; font-size: 14px\"><span style=\"color: windowtext\">Develops project plans and coordinates the required resources to ensure timely and cost effective installation and completion of assigned projects.</span></span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: 'book antiqua', palatino; font-size: 14px\"><span style=\"color: windowtext\">Provides work direction to subcontractors, electrical installers, technicians, designers, and administration as necessary</span></span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: 'book antiqua', palatino; font-size: 14px\"><br><span style=\"color: windowtext\">Completes typical installation of hardware design and software programming using established standards as required. </span></span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: 'book antiqua', palatino; font-size: 14px\"><span style=\"color: windowtext\">Manages and completes the loading, device verification, and commissioning of all system controllers as required. Validates complete system functionality and resolves issues with subcontractors and others to ensure proper operation. Provides accurate project as-built and commissioning documentation</span></span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: 'book antiqua', palatino; font-size: 14px\"><span style=\"color: windowtext\">Provides coaching, mentoring and technical assistance to Security Technicians, Electrical Installers, System Designers, Subcontractors, and other less experienced team members.</span></span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: 'book antiqua', palatino; font-size: 14px\"><span style=\"color: windowtext\">Ensures work performed is in compliance with state, local and Federal legal requirements, and ensures Johnson Controls staff and subcontractors adhere to all safety standards.</span></span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: 'book antiqua', palatino; font-size: 14px\"><span style=\"color: windowtext\">Assists with the selection, ordering, budget and delivery schedule of materials to be procured for the projects assigned via our web-based tool process</span></span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: 'book antiqua', palatino; font-size: 14px\"><span style=\"color: windowtext\">Effectively communicates the status of projects to management as required and assists with monthly forecasts of revenue, costs, and gross margin.</span></span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: 'book antiqua', palatino; font-size: 14px\"><span style=\"color: windowtext\">Performs site-specific training for owner/operator on the total system in full or with assistance. Ensures owner/operator has been trained.
