This role emphasizes using a combination of traditional cultural teachings, practices and ceremonies to provide supportive services grounded in culture and to assist Indigenous women with addressing recent and historical trauma that has an impact on their lives and promote their overall well-being.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><span style=\"font-size: 15px\">QUALIFICATIONS:</span></span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 15px\">Minimum degree and/or diploma in Counselling and/or the Social Sciences</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 15px\">Minimum 3 years’ previous experience working with women affected by trauma</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 15px\">Minimum 3 years’ experience advocating and supporting Indigenous women</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 15px\">A strong understanding of gendered violence from an integrated feminist, anti-racist, anti-oppression perspective is required</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 15px\">Commitment to supporting sexually trafficked women and those affected by violence/trauma</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 15px\">Specialized training in trauma informed care</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 15px\">Proven work experience in crisis supports and ability to mediate conflict</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 15px\">Specialized knowledge of trauma, mental health, and substance abuse issues</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 15px\">Ability to work with client centered approach</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 15px\">Proven ability in case management and supportive counselling skills</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 15px\">Knowledge of gender-based analysis theory and methodology</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 15px\">Excellent oral and written communications</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 15px\">Strong organizational, project management and time management skills</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 15px\">Experience working on a collaborative team</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 15px\">Able to manage many conflicting priorities simultaneously, with the ability to prioritize</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 15px\">Strong connection to other social service providers within the community</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 15px\">Knowledge and working of not for profit Indigenous organizations</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 15px\">Must be willing to work flexible hours as needed to provide crisis response to community members, which may include evenings and weekends and on-call (rotating schedule) overnight hours as needed</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 15px\">Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 15px\">Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint,) and other computer software</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 15px\">Valid G Class Driver’s License and access to a reliable vehicle with appropriate insurance.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 15px\">Valid current vulnerable sector criminal records check, 1st Aid/CPR.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 15px\">A cellular phone and internet access is required within this position</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 15px\">Must be willing and able to work a flexible working from home arrangement if required.  This may include a combination of virtual remote work in your home and in office arrangements.  This will be based on operational needs and will be determined by the ONWA.</span></li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 15px\">Ability/willingness to travel.</span></li>\n</ul>\n<ul></ul>\n<p><em><br></em></p>\n<p><span style=\"color: rgb(34, 34, 34); font-family: Lato, sans-serif; font-size: 15px; font-weight: bold\"><span>Please know, this is a new role in which we are recruiting for.<br></span><br>T<span>he full salary range for this role is $56,400 - $69,405.
