    "requisitionDescription": "<div><div><p id=\"isPasted\"><strong><u>POSITION SUMMARY:</u></strong><strong>&nbsp;</strong><strong>&nbsp;</strong></p><p>Under the direction of the Executive Director of Hearing and Speech, the Audiologist will provide comprehensive diagnostic and rehabilitative audiological services to clients in the community. The Audiologist serves as a member of the audiology team at the Lexington Hearing &amp; Speech Center.</p><p><strong><u>PRIMARY DUTIES:</u></strong><strong>&nbsp;</strong></p><ul><li>Provide audiological services for Lexington Hearing and Speech center clients, to include audiometric testing, and audiological management</li><li>Perform independent evaluation, interpretation and diagnosis of auditory system function</li><li>Develops individualized recommendations, treatment plans, and provides patient/family counseling and education</li><li>Conducts hearing aid evaluations, makes recommendations regarding appropriate amplification, keeps accurate records and completes necessary documentation</li><li>Maintains contact with manufacturers of audiological/amplification equipment to ensure knowledge of current practices and products</li><li>Networks with staff, consultants, and outside agencies on related issues</li><li>Collaborates with school management, faculty, and staff on communication skills issues</li><li>Demonstrates professional behavior during interactions</li><li>Proficient in asking appropriate questions and follow-up questions</li><li>Support the organization&rsquo;s Strategic Planning initiatives with an emphasis on culture. &nbsp;Demonstrate a commitment to our vision, purpose, and mission</li><li>Performs other related duties as assigned&nbsp;</li></ul><p><strong><u>REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES:</u></strong><strong>&nbsp;</strong></p><ul><li>Possess considerable knowledge of audiology methods and techniques used in the diagnosis and treatment of communication disorders of hearing which may also involve speech, language, and other disorders.</li><li>Must have operating knowledge of audiometric instruments.</li><li>Ability and experience working independently, using critical thinking skills and processes to arrive at objective, strategic, results-oriented decisions within the context of patient care and department, division and organizational priorities</li><li>Ability to work collaboratively with audiological team, faculty, and staff.</li><li>Comfortable working with both children and adults.</li><li>Excellent organizational and record keeping skills.</li><li>Strong written and oral communication capabilities.</li><li>Flexible work schedule may be required.<strong><u>&nbsp;</u></strong></li></ul><p><strong><u>EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:</u></strong>&nbsp;</p><ul><li>Doctorate degree in Audiology</li><li>Master&rsquo;s Degree in audiology, if graduated prior to 2007</li><li>Must hold current NYS Audiology licensure</li><li>NYS Hearing Aid Dispensing license</li><li>Certificate of Clinical Competency from the American Speech and Hearing Association or eligible to obtain&nbsp;</li><li>Minimum 2 years clinical experience with experience in pediatric audiology strongly preferred.<strong><u>&nbsp;</u></strong></li></ul><p><strong><u>SECURITY CLEARANCE:</u></strong><strong>&nbsp;</strong> &nbsp;</p><ul><li>Required clearances include medical clearance, fingerprinted by the NYC Board of Ed, SCR, and SEL clearance<strong>&nbsp;</strong></li></ul><p><strong><u>PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:</u></strong><strong><u>&nbsp;</u></strong></p><ul><li>Must have the ability to sit and stand for prolonged periods of time</li><li>Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times</li></ul></div></div>\n",
