Description

Job Summary: The Facilities Custodian is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment at a Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Milwaukee locations. This individual will ensure the facilities one BGCGM locations is well-maintained and comply with health and safety standards, creating a positive experience for youth, staff, and visitors. This role supports one location on the South Side of Milwaukee. Responsibilities: Cleaning and Maintenance : Perform daily cleaning duties, including sweeping, mopping, dusting, vacuuming, and sanitizing all areas of the facilities (restrooms, offices, gymnasiums, and common areas). Empty and dispose of trash and recycling from all designated areas. Ensure all restrooms are stocked with supplies (toilet paper, soap, hand towels, etc.). Safety and Compliance : Use cleaning supplies and equipment according to safety guidelines. Identify and report maintenance issues (e.g., plumbing, electrical, or HVAC concerns) to the Facilities & Safety Manager. Follow safety protocols to prevent hazards or accidents. Facility Oversight : Maintain the inventory of cleaning supplies and notify the Facilities & Safety Manager when restocking is necessary. Set up and break down spaces for special events or programs as requested. Lock and secure facilities after hours when necessary. Education Requirements: None required Experience Requirements: Previous experience in janitorial or custodial work. Preferably over 2 years. Skills and Qualifications: Ability to work independently and manage time effectively Attention to detail and dedication to creating a clean and safe environment for youth. Reliable transportation. Must have a valid WI driver’s license, good driving record, and meet state required automobile insurance minimums. Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and use hands to touch, handle, or feel.
