Join us in this transformative movement where you can contribute to making a profound difference every day. At Vynca, our mission is to provide comprehensive care for more quality days at home. About the job As a pivotal member of our Business Operations Team, the Senior Analytics Engineer will own and scale our reporting infrastructure across Redshift, dbt, and Tableau. You'll transform raw data into reliable, well-modeled datasets and deliver actionable insights that support leadership and operational decision-making across the organization. Your role will be instrumental in building a trusted, scalable, and high-performing reporting ecosystem by developing data models, optimizing reporting performance, and improving how data is accessed and utilized company-wide. This role is ideal for a highly skilled SQL expert who thrives at the intersection of data engineering and analytics and enjoys solving complex data challenges in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. Join our dynamic team in a remote capacity, but please note, our core operating hours align with Pacific Standard Time (PST). This is a critical role and we're looking to fill it as soon as possible. What you’ll do Develop and maintain scalable data models using dbt within a Redshift environment. Write complex, high-performance SQL queries to transform, analyze, and validate large datasets. Own and optimize the Tableau reporting layer, including dashboard development, data source management, and performance tuning. Partner cross-functionally with business stakeholders to translate ambiguous business questions into actionable data solutions. Build reusable, well-documented datasets and reporting assets that support scalable self-service analytics. Monitor and improve data quality, integrity, and consistency across multiple data sources. Optimize Redshift query performance and support cost-efficient data operations. Deliver both recurring operational reporting and high-priority ad hoc analyses to support business decision-making. Your experience and qualifications Experience: Two to five (2–5) years in roles such as Senior Analytics Engineer, Data Analyst, Business Intelligence Analyst, Analytics Engineer, or similar data-focused roles, preferably within healthcare and/or venture-backed startup environments. Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Economics, Finance, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Health Informatics, or a related field. 2–5+ years of advanced SQL experience required. Hands-on experience with dbt, including data modeling, testing, and documentation. Strong experience working with Amazon Redshift or similar columnar data warehouse technologies. Proven track record building, scaling, and optimizing Tableau dashboards and data sources. Deep understanding of data modeling concepts, including star schemas and fact/dimension tables. Ability to work with complex, messy, or incomplete datasets and transform them into structured, reliable reporting solutions. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate business needs into scalable data solutions. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. High level of ownership and accountability with a proactive approach to identifying and solving problems. Strong attention to detail with a focus on data quality, accuracy, and consistency. Preferred Experience working with healthcare, value-based care, or claims/clinical datasets. Familiarity with ELT workflows and data orchestration tools. Experience using Python for data analysis, automation, or data engineering tasks. At this time we are only considering applicants in the following states: Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Nevada, North Carolina, Oregon, Texas, Utah and Washington. Additional Information The hiring process for this role may consist of applying, followed by a phone screen, online assessment(s), interview(s), an offer, and background/reference checks. Background Screening: A background check, which may include a drug test or other health screenings depending on the role, will be required prior to employment. Job Description Scope: This job description is not exhaustive and may include additional activities, duties, and responsibilities not listed herein.
