Come share our vision and passion in delivering a superior customer experience.&nbsp;</p>\n<p>&nbsp;</p>\n<p><strong><u>What the job entails (overview)</u></strong></p>\n<p>This is your opportunity to embrace a culture that promotes a passion for customer service, teamwork and continuous improvement as well as ensuring the delivery of exceptional customer service experience for our members and customers of Calgary Co-op.&nbsp;The&nbsp;<strong>Pharmacy Assistant</strong>&nbsp;position will be responsible for providing specialized pharmaceutical care to patients receiving specialty medications, including biologics and to ensure safe and effective therapy for patients with complex medical conditions.</p>\n<p>&nbsp;</p>\n<p><strong><u>Where you’ll be focusing (your day to day):</u></strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Medication Order Processing: Assist in processing specialty medication orders, including verifying prescription details, patient information, and insurance coverage.</li>\n <li>Prior Authorization Assistance: Collaborate with pharmacists and healthcare providers to help obtain prior authorizations for specialty medications, ensuring patients have timely access to their prescribed treatments.</li>\n <li>Patient Communication: Communicate with patients to answer inquiries, book appointments and provide exceptional customer service.</li>\n <li>Billing and Reimbursement Support: Assist with insurance claims processing and billing tasks related to specialty medications, ensuring accurate documentation for reimbursement.</li>\n <li>Medication Adherence Support: Work closely with patients to promote medication adherence through timely refill reminders and educational materials.</li>\n <li>Pharmacy Software Utilization: Utilize pharmacy software systems for data entry, prescription processing, and patient record management.</li>\n <li>Collaborative Teamwork: Work as part of a multidisciplinary team, collaborating with pharmacists, clinical pharmacists and pharmacy staff at store level.</li>\n <li>Crossover duties at out Compliance Packaging Centre.</li>\n <li>Participate in the development and action of yearly competency performance work plan(s) and development action plan(s).&nbsp;</li>\n</ul>\n<p>&nbsp;</p>\n<p><strong>What you will need (Requirements):</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Grade 12 education or acceptable combination of experience and education.&nbsp;</li>\n <li>Pass the Calgary Co-op Pharmacy Assistant test.</li>\n <li>Completed a recognized Pharmacy Assistant Program (preferred)&nbsp;</li>\n <li>Experience working in Specialty pharmacy (preferred)</li>\n <li>Proficiency and competence with Microsoft Office applications&nbsp;</li>\n <li>Prior experience in a specialty pharmacy or healthcare setting dealing with complex medications is an advantage</li>\n <li>Excellent communication and customer service skills to interact effectively with patients and healthcare professionals</li>\n <li>Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, handling multiple tasks efficiently</li>\n <li>Written communication skills, including the ability to write in a clear and concise manner to peers, managers, and customers.
