Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) is a core DevOps approach that automates software development and deployment processes to enable faster, more reliable releases. The selected individual will support DevOps activities as part of an agile development team for a large, complex enterprise system. This role requires a dedicated software engineer who will work on a variety of DevOps tasks, with a strong focus on automation and efficient software delivery. The individual must be willing to learn and adopt new technologies and methodologies, and must consider the system's end-to-end IT infrastructure when implementing changes and improvements.</p>\n<p><br><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Primary Responsibilities</span><br>The Software Engineer will be responsible for a range of DevOps activities, including:</p>\n<p>Managing tools that support software development, deployment, and integrated testing.<br>Integrating project functions and resources across the full product lifecycle.<br>Identifying manual processes and implementing automation to improve efficiency.<br>Selecting, configuring, and maintaining appropriate CI/CD tools.<br>Implementing and supporting development, testing, and automation tools while optimizing the underlying IT infrastructure.<br>Ensuring that all system changes and improvements maintain required security standards.<br>Designing, building, and continuously improving CI/CD pipelines to support continuous integration, delivery, and deployment.<br>Demonstrating persistence and ownership when facing challenges, with a strong commitment to program goals.<br>Collaborating with and assisting team members across the program, as needed, to achieve shared objectives.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Basic Qualifications</span></p>\n<p>At least 8 years of relevant DevOps experience.<br>Must have at least 5 years of experience managing tools that support software development, deployment, and integrated testing.<br>Must have at least 5 years of experience working with CI/CD frameworks.<br>Must have meaningful system administration experience (primarily Windows, with some Linux).<br>Must have experience with several of the following: Java, Groovy, Python, PowerShell, Batch, Bash scripting, JavaScript, and AngularJS. Must have experience with Integrated Development Environments (IDEs) such as Eclipse, Visual Studio Code, Visual Studio, Rhapsody, and WebStorm.<br>Must have experience with software source control and configuration management tools.<br>Must have experience working in a virtualized environment, including managing virtual machines (VMs).<br>Must have experience with container-based platforms used for automated application deployment.<br>Must be motivated, adaptable, and eager to learn new techniques and technologies, while adhering to best practices in test automation.<br>Must have a strong understanding of sound software development principles and practices.<br>Must be able to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.<br>Must be an independent thinker capable of producing high-quality work, both individually and as part of a team, in a fast-paced environment.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Preferred Qualifications</span></p>\n<p>Bachelor's degree or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field.<br>Experience with databases such as Oracle, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and SQL Server.<br>Experience with web application user interface development, database design and structures, Spring Framework, and working with technologies such as AngularJS, JSON, HTML, XML, and XSLT.<br>Experience with Scrum and/or the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe), SAFe Agilist certification, or prior experience as a member of an Agile team. </p>\n<p>DevOps Software Engineer</p>\n<p>DevOps is an agile development practice and mindset that applies agile principles such as collaboration, communication, and effective tooling to streamline software build, test, and release activities.
