    "requisitionDescription": "<div><div><div><div><p data-pasted=\"true\"><strong>Primary Purpose of Job</strong></p><p>Leads and develops a network engineer operations team while actively contributing to the design and architecture of enterprise network solutions - planning, configuration, and installation of network systems, including LANs, LAN internetworking, and WAN environments, inclusive of connections to partner networks. This role ensures reliable, secure, and scalable network services through a balance of operational excellence, forward-looking architecture, and collaborative leadership that fosters accountability, urgency, and positive team engagement.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Major Job Accountabilities</strong></p><ul type=\"disc\" data-pasted=\"true\"><li>Leads, mentors, and manages the network administration team to deliver reliable, secure, and high-performing network services.</li><li>Oversee 24/7 network operations, ensuring rapid response and resolution of production issues with minimal business impact.</li><li>Establishes and monitors KPIs/SLAs to measure operational effectiveness and continuously improve team performance.</li><li>Serves as a hands-on network architect, contributing to the design and evolution of LAN, WAN, cloud, and hybrid network environments.</li><li>Collaborates with network engineering teammates with architectural planning for scalability, resilience, and security aligned with business and technology strategies.</li><li>Collaborates with engineering teammates to review and approve network designs, configurations, and changes to ensure alignment with enterprise architecture standards.</li><li>Evaluates emerging technologies and recommend innovations to improve performance, reliability, and cost efficiency.</li><li>Partners with leadership to define and execute network infrastructure strategy and roadmap.</li><li>Identifies opportunities for automation, optimization, and modernization of network services.</li><li>Balances short-term operational needs with long-term architectural goals.</li><li>Collaborates closely with infrastructure, security, application, and business teams to deliver integrated solutions.</li><li>Acts as a key liaison between technical teams, vendors, and business stakeholders.</li><li>Promotes a team-first mindset, encouraging open communication, knowledge sharing, and mutual support.</li><li>Ensures disciplined execution of change management processes with minimal risk to production systems.</li><li>Leads root cause analysis and implement preventative measures to reduce recurring issues.</li><li>Champions continuous improvement in ITIL-based processes.</li><li>Coaches, mentors, and develop team members technically and professionally.</li><li>Fosters a positive, inclusive, and high-morale team environment that encourages innovation and growth.</li><li>Leads by example with a proactive, solution-oriented, and adaptable mindset.</li><li>Ensure network infrastructure adheres to security policies, regulatory requirements, and internal standards.</li><li>Implements and maintains appropriate controls to safeguard systems and data integrity.</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>Experience Required</strong></p><p>Minimum five (5) years of experience in the following:</p><ul type=\"disc\" data-pasted=\"true\"><li>5+ years managing network or infrastructure teams in a production environment.</li><li>Proven experience in both:<ul type=\"circle\"><li>Network operations leadership, and</li><li>Network design/architecture (enterprise-scale preferred)</li></ul></li><li>Experience leading incident response and driving operational improvements in time-sensitive environments.</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>Required Skills or Training</strong></p><div style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><ul style=\"list-style-type: disc;\" data-pasted=\"true\"><li>Possesses experience in managing projects to deliver IT solutions in a time-critical manner.</li><li>Strong leadership presence with the ability to inspire, motivate, and unify teams.</li><li>Demonstrated ability to operate with urgency while maintaining quality and strategic focus.</li><li>Deep technical expertise in network architecture (routing, switching, firewalls, cloud networking, etc.).</li><li>Proven ability to balance hands-on technical work with leadership responsibilities.</li><li>Excellent collaboration and communication skills across technical and non-technical audiences.</li><li>Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, especially in high-pressure situations.</li><li>Commitment to fostering a positive team culture and high employee engagement.</li></ul></div><p><br></p><p><strong>Professional Certifications, Licenses, And/or Registration Requirements</strong></p><div style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><ul style=\"list-style-type: disc;margin-left: 0in;\"><li>Cisco CCNA Certification preferred.</li><li>Relevant architecture or cloud networking certifications (e.g., AWS, Azure) are a plus.</li></ul></div><p><em>&nbsp;</em></p><p><em>&nbsp;</em></p><p><em>EOE, including disability/veterans</em></p><p><em>&nbsp;</em></p><p>At American Savings Bank, we welcome and support all individuals and celebrate the diversity of our team members, customers and community.
