    "description": "<h2>Department Overview</h2>\n<p>Hillsboro Medical Center, an Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU) Partner, is seeking a clinician-educator to support the community-based primary care residency, provide exceptional patient care, and further the educational mission. This position is a full-time academic position in the Division of General Internal Medicine and Geriatrics, Department of Internal Medicine at OHSU School of Medicine. </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Faculty in the Division of General Internal Medicine & Geriatrics participate actively in teaching medical students, residents, fellows, and each other. Opportunities for teaching abound and participation is encouraged and valued. </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>The <strong>overall</strong> <strong>mission</strong> of the Hillsboro Medical Center <strong>Internal Medicine</strong> Primary Care Residency is to train physicians who are:</p>\n<ul>\n <li>well-rounded primary care physicians with <strong>excellent</strong> <strong>clinical skills</strong></li>\n <li><strong>resilient</strong> providers equipped to meet the needs of the diverse community of the Hillsboro, OR and greater Portland, OR areas;</li>\n <li><strong>advocates</strong> for the underrepresented and underserved;</li>\n <li>stewards of the ideals of <strong>inclusion and equity;</strong></li>\n <li>intellectually curious life-long <strong>learners</strong>;</li>\n <li><strong>thoughtfully </strong>engaged in quality improvement and research;</li>\n <li><strong>transformative leaders </strong>who guide primary care change and growth</li>\n <li>strong collaborators within <strong>interprofessional teams.</strong></li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<h2>Function/Duties of Position</h2>\n<p>This position will include continuity ambulatory practice and potentially interim care for the practice. Clinical care duties will be the equivalent of 7 half days per week.  Clinical work will include of precepting residents approximately one-half day a week.  Evening clinic hours will be expected at 1-day per week.  Communication skills and the ability to collaborate with other clinicians in our practice is essential.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Duties of this position include</p>\n<p> </p>\n<ul>\n <li>Serve as a Primary care clinician in the Faculty Practice with OHSU at Hillsboro Internal Medicine Primary Care Clinic (to include continuity care, as well as interim or same day care) </li>\n <li>Participate in clinical based teaching of OHSU students and in the future Hillsboro Medical Center based Internal Medicine residents, such as resident continuity clinic precepting</li>\n <li>Potential for inpatient general medicine clinical work </li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Required Qualifications</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>MD or DO</li>\n <li>Demonstrated commitment to educational excellence</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Why apply to OHSU?</h2>\n<b>We are Oregon's only public academic health center.</b> In addition to caring for patients, we lead groundbreaking research.
