    "ExternalDescriptionStr": "<p><span><strong>CLASSIFICATION:</strong> Support Staff</span></p>\n<p><span><strong>DEPARTMENT:</strong> Facilities Management, Planning &amp; Construction</span></p>\n<p><span><strong>FLSA STATUS</strong>: Non-Exempt</span></p>\n<p><span><strong>SUPERVISION RECEIVED:&nbsp;</strong>Custodial Manager, Custodial Supervisor</span></p>\n<p><span><strong>SUPERVISION EXERCISED:&nbsp;</strong>N/A</span></p>\n<p><span><strong>POSITION SUMMARY:&nbsp;</strong>With minimal supervision, perform a broad range of tasks and duties associated with general building custodial services.</span></p>\n<p><span><strong>ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:&nbsp;</strong></span></p>\n<ul>\n <li><span>Through a work order system, as well as direction from others, provide general building custodial tasks including but not limited to: entrance ways, hallways, restrooms, shower rooms, kitchens, lounges, stairwells, dorm rooms, etc.</span></li>\n <li><span>Keep building furniture, equipment and premises clean, neat and safe at all times.</span></li>\n <li><span>Make efficient use of custodial supplies</span></li>\n <li><span>Operate various types of custodial equipment such as vacuum cleaners</span></li>\n <li><span>Maintain custodial inventory, place orders for custodial supplies and receive/verify delivery of custodial supplies.</span></li>\n <li><span>Provide routine care and maintenance to cleaning equipment.</span></li>\n <li><span>Perform minor repairs when possible and report the need for maintenance work orders to be written when repairs require special skills.</span></li>\n <li><span>Provide routine plant services coverage to assigned areas and to other areas during absences of departmental personnel.</span></li>\n <li><span>Evaluate and assist with selection of new cleaning products and equipment.</span></li>\n <li><span>Comply with all safety procedures and work guidelines encountered in the maintenance and operation of institutional buildings and natural environments. Communicate issues to managers or foremen; actively participate in training activities, seminars and safety meetings.</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><span><strong>QUALIFICATIONS:&nbsp;</strong></span></p>\n<ul>\n <li><span>High school diploma or GED, up to one year of related experience, or a combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the requirements of this position.</span></li>\n <li><span>Demonstrated knowledge and experience of cleaning methods, materials and equipment.</span></li>\n <li><span>Ability to perform manual tasks requiring above average physical strength.</span></li>\n <li><span>Possess the ability to work independently, under the direction of others, follow oral and written instructions, and work with other staff members as part of a team to create and maintain a positive, productive, safe and efficient work environment.</span></li>\n <li><span>Satisfactory background checks will be required.</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><span><strong>TO APPLY:&nbsp;</strong>Qualified candidates should attach their cover letter and resume to their online application</span><span>&nbsp;</span><span>by clicking “Apply Now”.
