About The Children's Guild
The Children's Guild is a leading nonprofit organization dedicated to transforming the lives of children and families through innovative education, behavioral health, and therapeutic services. Our Outpatient Mental Health Center (OMHC) provides comprehensive, evidence-based mental health services to children, adolescents, and their families in a supportive and trauma-informed environment.
Position Summary
The Therapist/Clinician provides individual, group, and family therapy services to children and adolescents experiencing emotional, behavioral, and mental health challenges. Working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, the clinician will conduct assessments, develop individualized treatment plans, and deliver high-quality therapeutic interventions in alignment with the mission and values of The Children's Guild.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct comprehensive biopsychosocial assessments and diagnostic evaluations for child and adolescent clients.
Develop, implement, and regularly review individualized treatment plans in collaboration with clients, families, and the treatment team.
Provide individual, family, and group therapy using evidence-based modalities (e.g., CBT, TF-CBT, DBT, play therapy).
Maintain timely and accurate clinical documentation in the electronic health record (EHR) system in accordance with regulatory and agency standards.
Collaborate with psychiatrists, case managers, school staff, and other community providers to coordinate care.
Participate in treatment team meetings, clinical supervision, and ongoing professional development.
Engage families as active partners in the therapeutic process.
Adhere to all COMAR, CARF, and relevant federal/state regulatory requirements.
Maintain compliance with HIPAA and confidentiality standards.
Participate in crisis assessment and safety planning as needed.
Qualifications
Qualifications
Required
Master's degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or a related field.
Active licensure in the state of Maryland (LCSW, LCPC, LMSW, LGPC, or equivalent); candidates in good standing working toward full licensure may be considered.
Minimum of 2–5 years of post-graduate clinical experience, with a focus on children, adolescents, and/or families.
Demonstrated experience providing therapy to youth with diverse mental health, behavioral, and trauma-related needs.
Strong knowledge of child development, family systems, and trauma-informed care principles.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
Preferred
Experience working in an outpatient mental health or community-based setting.
Training in evidence-based practices such as TF-CBT, CBT, or DBT.
Bilingual skills (English/Spanish or other languages) are a plus.
Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems.
