Description

Overview The USU Employee Wellness Program, Be Well, seeks a positive, collaborative, and dynamic individual to join our team as the Employee Wellness Supervisor. This position is responsible for supervising the personal trainers and fitness class instructors, providing personal training and support to employees, and assisting in the implementation of wellness programs. This position reports to the Employee Wellness Program Manager and plays a key role in promoting the physical, mental, and emotional well-being of employees - helping achieve our program goal of "Creating a Culture of Wellness at Utah State University". Responsibilities Supervise and provide day-to-day leadership to personal trainers and fitness class instructors, ensuring high-quality service and support. Provide personal training and wellness support to employees, including fitness assessments, exercise programming, and wellness coaching. Assist in the development and implementation of wellness programs and initiatives that promote healthy lifestyles and well-being among employees. Plan and coordinate wellness activities, events, and workshops, such as fitness classes, health screenings, and educational seminars. Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of wellness programs, using data and feedback to make improvements. Develop and distribute wellness communication materials, including newsletters, flyers, and online content. Provide guidance and support to employees on wellness-related topics and resources. Collaborate with external vendors and partners to provide wellness services and resources. Maintain accurate records and reports on wellness program activities and outcomes. Stay current with industry trends and best practices in employee wellness and personal training. Promote a culture of wellness within the organization by engaging employees and encouraging participation in wellness programs. Teach assigned Kinesiology (KIN) courses that support the university’s Employee Wellness program, ensuring engaging, evidence-based instruction aligned with departmental goals and academic standards. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Health Promotion, Exercise Science, Public Health, Human Resources, or related field plus 3 years of experience in wellness program management, personal training, or related work experience or equivalent combination of education & experience. Certification in personal training (e.g., ACE, NASM, ACSM) required. Preferred Qualifications: Professional certification in health or wellness (e.g., CWWS, CHES, CSCS) preferred. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: In-depth knowledge of wellness program design and implementation. Strong organizational and time management skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and wellness program software. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Leadership and team management skills. Knowledge of health and wellness principles and best practices.
